IEPA reportable event

By: Diane Benjamin

The Bloomington Normal Water Reclamation District has a Board meeting today. BNWRD sends me their Board packet every month. Citizens of Bloomington and Normal are billed with your water bill and as a line item on your property tax bill.

The June 26th flooding did create a sewage overflow event that required BNWRD to file a report with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Unlike Normal’s sewage overflows in basements, BNWARD’s looks like homes weren’t affected. The discharge happened near Heyworth.

  1. Trust me, South Hill and many residents did have a discharge inside their homes as well as external discharging in many streets and retention areas all across Ward 1 and beyond.

      1. Residents can file a complaint with the City. Check the website for information. 500 residents already have.
