Local GOP supports Voter Rights in Normal

Democrats?

This issue will become a political albatross around the necks of anyone who opposes it.

People of all parties collected signatures and signed the petitions. Representation isn’t political!

  1. I spoke with a former ISU political science professor who said an initiative like this is usually pushed by Democrats, not opposed. Further evidence the local leftist elites don’t care about voters’ opinions or rights, just their own power, and all the more reason that the referendum needs to be on the ballot and needs to pass.

    1. I would say that these sort of issues WERE at one time pushed by Democrats, they “care” about such issues ONLY when it will benefit them and only them. I have come to the conclusion that the “top dogs” have always been this way and I truly pity the decent people who have been sucked in as pawns by the left for generations. I’m not “Republican” either though because for at least 60 years or so (probably longer) they have just been a false opponent for the Left for the most part with certain exceptions here and there.

  2. The League of Womens Voters is against the referendum. I hope people now see the McLeans County LWV for what the really are…the local Democrats pretending to care about voter rights under a false banner..

  3. Half of the last sentence needs tweaked because the are many Democrats who signed and support the petition. The LWV is controlled by some local elected and appointed Democrat elites who are pretending to care about voter rights under a false flag..

    1. Both major parties are dominated by Politicians, who put their own interests ahead of the people they are supposed to represent. One hears a lot about RINOs, but yes, there are DINOs too. One could argue the DINO ‘infestation’ is actually significantly worse than the RINOs’.

    2. I think you hit on the key word – “Elites” the “elites” of both major parties are pretty much all the same, as my dad used to say “They all eat from the same trough that WE fill up for them, now and then one or two of them will feel a twinge of guilt and do something to show appreciation to the peasants who provide their swill” At the top, the Rs and Ds are mainly decorative, with a few notable exceptions here and there.
