Read the text of SB40 that is law in Illinois as of 1/1/2024: https://ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=103-0053
Subsidized housing will be required to have EV charging stations even though people who live in subsidized housing wouldn’t be living there is they could afford an EV.
New construction and renovated multi-family housing will be required to install charging stations too.

Making housing even more expensive is to “save the environment” according to the law. It is really to bankrupt you. You will see just as many EV’s charging at “affordable housing” as you see bikers using bike lanes.
Affordable housing becomes less affordable January 1st.

More crap the tax payers have to subsidize, how? Well the landlord will raise “rent” and the govt (we the people) will pick up the tab.
UNBELIEVABLE!
I would not be surprised if passing this legislation qualifies Pritzker for more Federal Funds.
That Trust Fund Baby (Pritzker) LOVES money for nothing!
brilliant!
Maybe we should turn the tables. Force Political leadership and the wealthy to purchase and drive only EV’s. Rather than flying, force them to find other ways to travel cross country or internationally. Force all members of congress to drive their EV or take an electric bus to and from Washington and their home state. Outlaw private jets. Outlaw carbon credits for the wealthy. Force the wealthy and politicians to live in 15 minute neighborhood multi family units.
These people can afford it. We can’t.
EV Stamps, or an EV card?
X’s Grok calculated this for me. Seems like a worthwhile and fair way to reduce CO2 and its free.
Grok concludes it’s calculations,
“So, if every person on Earth over 6 years of age held their breath for 30 seconds 12 times a day, and it was done for 80 years, the total reduction in CO2 emissions would be approximately 11,782,400 tons of CO2.”
I would do this if politicians held their breath for 10 minutes, 20 times a day. We would be better off for two reasons.
Plant trees
As usual, “environmentalism” that actually *hurts* the environment.
At best it’s all virtue signalling, and I’d be very surprised if there isn’t financial benefit for key politicians.
