Illinois leaves kids behind

By: Diane Benjamin

In 2023 twenty states expanded school choice. More were added in 2024: https://schoolchoiceweek.com/2023-yes-to-school-choice/

Georgia, Louisiana, MIssouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee are working to pass some form of school choice. https://www.edchoice.org/engage/school-choice-in-the-states-april-2024/

Illinois canceled the Invest In Kids Act because teacher’s unions demanded it. Illinois kids are at a great disadvantage in government schools because schools don’t have to educate. Without competition they are free to indoctrinate your kids.

Zip Codes should not lock your kids into schools that indoctrinate because property taxes make it very difficult to afford an alternative school.

Being locked in public schools means a state education. Kids are only taught what the state wants them to know.

If you didn’t listen to Kirk Allen’s public comment in this story, do it now: https://blnnews.com/2024/05/15/one-more-from-last-night/

Allen spoke at an Illinois Public College where at least 2 kids didn’t know who Benjamin Franklin was. America’s story is a heritage kids are no longer taught.

District 87 had a teacher who taught the 1619 Project – fake history. https://blnnews.com/2021/06/11/2-district-87-kids-1619-project/

Is he still teaching it? One kids mentioned Abraham Lincoln accidently freed the slaves after he was taught by this teacher. He wasn’t educated, he was indoctrinated by a deviant!

Kids deserve better. Voting for anyone against school choice will damage your children. Illinois needs a reset. It won’t happen unless you demand it and vote accordingly.

Unit 5 spent $13,000 per student last year.

District 87 spent $15,000 per student.

Getting your money’s worth?

An uneducated population is easier to control. Is that the goal in Illinois?

  1. My favorite saying about these kinds of images: “AI art accidentally made me believe in the human soul because it showed me what art looks like without it.” (credit unknown)

  2. Not ti mention the heavy Mclean and Central Illinois “education admin & staff” double dipping (projects, elite jobs & pensions)

We are taken advantage of daily by public servants a d orgs

  3. Please contact your legislators. This program has really assisted low income families in choosing private schools. Further, all of our neighboring states have some form of school choice. There is an active proposal that if called for a vote likely would pass. Please help to keep the pressure on.
