The Supervisor of Assessments will be holding public information sessions around the County.

.
This link has information on filing an assessment complaint: https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/109/Filing-an-Assessment-Complaint
Filing a complaint is part of the public information sessions.
Keep in mind, every unit of government can refuse to raise your property taxes by just requesting the same TOTAL amount or less than the previous year. Most refuse to do that. Campaigning for next April’s election will be starting soon. Ask people who want your vote about property taxes.
Expect rents to increase again with increased property taxes. Landlords don’t have magic money to pay them, renters have to. If landlords can’t get a return on their investment they will quit being landlords.
If you want help with a complaint:

If the “sessions” are like Cook county assessor woman its basically showing a “report” and laughing in citizens faces like they”just dont understand …”(or basically uneducated about the system so she has to “train” you. All while folks lose their homes or pay necessities or loose savings as the process stinks and lacks integrity. It was disgusting to watch.
These leaders are puppets. public “service” ram rodding system and process that exploit working class and taxpayers.
All counties seem to do the same game and playbook.
