Maybe schools wouldn’t need more funding if they weren’t required to educate illegal alien kids that only the far left think have a right to be here. We are forced to pay for illegal immigration without a vote.

School administrators want a 1% County Sales Tax. Don’t pay any attention to the list of what they can do with the extra money. There will NEVER be enough money for schools because EDUCATION isn’t why they exist as evidenced by test scores.
If you think your property taxes will decrease keep dreaming. Unit 5 claimed passing their referendum wouldn’t increase your property taxes. You are paying more because government is taxing you on the unrealized gains of property you own. Now they want another source of your money to add to their windfall.
Reserved a U-Haul yet? There is probably a wait list. Illinois must want you to leave or policies would concentrate on keeping people here instead of forcing them to lower tax states. Vote better!
This isn’t price gouging for people leaving Illinois. They can’t get their trucks back here to rent again because more people leave than move in!

So what does this say about the management of Unit 5?
1. This is about school violence obviously. They don’t know or don’t want to say what the root cause of it is therefore they will not solve this problem with more money.
2. Here’s a thought. Teaching Victimism makes kids angry.
3. Spreading kids out means more classrooms, more teacher, more administrators and more money, and when it doesn’t work, plan B will be to ask for more money.
4. What efforts are being made to save taxpayer’s money at Unit 5? None that I can see.
If I had gone to my boss with a half baked solution like this I would probably have been laughed at or fired. I surely wouldn’t have gotten the budget for it.

Throwing more money at the problem has never produced any results except those the State and District Education administrations,Federal Dept. Of Education, and other supporting organizations truly have intended.
Which are not better “educations” for students, safer schools, or students that can excel as adults in college or trades, create their own opportunities and be entrepreneurs, business owners and be self reliant successful individuals, with dignity and pride in themselves.
Instead, the public education teaches government reliance, equity, lack of accountability, lack of responsibility, and labels discipline to be a “punishment”. While pushing anti-family values and policies in the classrooms without parents consent.

This is how the Democrats destroy Democracy. Keep taking more money for themselves through taxes with fancy labels and sob stories about how education and other programs are not functioning because they lack staff and amenities. Unit 5 just got awarded a tax increase after a second try and now the County wants more. Has anyone seen any improvement? I sure haven’t, it’s only gotten worse.
Each year the government give there Selfs a 11% increase, by raising the value of my property! As a small business, I was forced to cut expenses to pay taxes. PAY or loose your property!
I remember about 10 years ago schools put this on the ballot and it was soundly defeated. Soon after, city councils in B-N saw an opportunity and raised sales taxes a full 1 percent when no one was looking. Imagine that!
“We’re in the business of doing business….” Open those pocketbooks “for the kids….”
Taxation is theft and kids get and benefit LITTLE! Despite the crying and sob stories.

Unit 5 doesn’t deserve more of our money. Kids cannot read, spell, do math, write, etc. The money they already take from us is being misspent. Not another dime.
Perhaps you should do more research on this subject that you know absolutely nothing about other than spreading misinformation. The Supreme Court ruled in 1982 the illegal immigrants had a right to be educated. “Plyler v. Doe, 457 U.S. 202 (1982), was a landmark decision in which the Supreme Court of the United States struck down both a state statute denying funding for education of undocumented immigrant children in the United States and an independent school district’s attempt to charge an annual $1,000 tuition fee for each student to compensate for lost funding.”
So illegal immigrants children have the right to be educated in elementary schools and high schools.
What’s is despicable is the way public education is being systematically demonized in a coordinated attempt to destroy the cornerstone of this country’s public education system. None of commenters here would last 2 minutes as a teacher. Totally false statements like children can’t read and allegations of money being misspent are not supported by any evidence. Public schools have been educating children since the beginning of this country. Those who want public education destroyed are Christian nationalists who want their extremes views taught. Immigrants whether they were legal or not were educated in this country for over 100 years. There were more immigrants in this country back then that came to this country for a better life.They certainly didn’t “take over schools”. They became educated citizens who contributed to this country. We need immigrants as they add to our economy with the jobs they have added to this country. Immigration was and is the life blood of this country. Immigrants built this country. The same is true about immigrants now. Apparently you only accept Supreme Court rulings if you agree with them.
