3 Things you need to know

The entire turbine field by Carlock was turned off yesterday:

To be fair, a few hours later they were spinning. Maybe they require wind.

2)

Krystle Able finally revealed why she wants the rent control ban lifted:

Of course she doesn’t see the ridiculous here. Let me help her out:

  • If you can’t afford to live by yourself, don’t. Ever heard of a roommate?
  • Is Able talking about students? Didn’t ISU tear down dorms? Isn’t providing affordable housing ISU’s job since they want students at their school?
  • Is she claiming a college degree isn’t going to result in a higher income when they graduate? Why are they paying for a useless degree?
  • It isn’t the job of property owners to LOSE money so leftists can afford to live by themselves.
  • Of course anything that isn’t affordable is caused by predatory practices and greed in Krystle’s world. Marxists don’t believe in capitalism.
  • Pictures of the crowd are on her Facebook page – looks like less than 30 people attended.

Proof Democrats are math challenged, her fellow County Board member Alex Duffy thinks just like her. Aren’t you glad the County Board will be run by Democrats now? 🤦‍♀️

The far left, including the local League of Women Voters, are considering Ranked Choice Voting for Illinois. No, they don’t believe the person who gets the most votes wins. #Democracy

I wonder if they noticed 4 states rejected it November 5th. I don’t see the results yet from Alaska, they were voting to repeal it.

The 100% Democrat controlled District of Columbia approved it because electing Democrats is all that’s possible there.

Always question radical changes to what has been in place for hundreds of years.

  1. On Rent Control.

Maybe someone knows the details of Able’s plan?

Will she visit each apartment or house, inspect it and then decide what the owner can charge for rent?

Will she also inspect the owner? Take a look at their financial situation and see how much they can afford to reduce the rent? Will she review their collectivist “identities” and apply some kind of rent reduction or increase?

Will she also inspect the current renter/s and apply an extra fee or relief based on preferred or rejected identities in the name of equity?

And then will she have the power to assign renters to vacant properties? Kind of like a Rental Czar?

When all rental property is declared eminent domain will the Rental Czar be free to take kickbacks?

You see where this could/has ended up. I’m asking where will her authority end and who is it that would give her these powers?

  2. “Is she claiming a college degree isn’t going to result in a higher income when they graduate? Why are they paying for a useless degree?”

This is spoken like someone who has not had to navigate the job market in a very long time. A lot of jobs now require a specialized college degree, whether it’s truly necessary to do the job or not. And a lot of jobs are *not* offering a lot of money for those college-degree-required positions, especially if they’re entry-level and even some mid-level. Competition is also stiffer than it has been for quite some time. I’m not making an argument for rent control here; I am saying that this question is disingenous. The job market is needlessly difficult now, compounded by how expensive everything is (and has been for the past few years) among other things.
