Connect Transit New Record Loss and more

By: Diane Benjamin

This item should have every taxpayer concerned:

Champaign-Urbana taxes directly instead of getting contributions from both cities like Connect transit does. I’ve heard for years that Connect wants to be a mass transit district with the ability to tax you directly. I guarantee if that ever happens Bloomington and Normal will not decrease your taxes to compensate. This will be an additional line item on your property tax bill. Add this to the additional 1% County Tax the School Districts want. There is NEVER enough money for government because the people elected think they are entitled to your money. Keep electing these people and your taxes will continue to increase.

Your vote matters:

It would have been nice if buying expensive diesel was stated as rejected. I think it was.

  1. Obviously Connect Transit needs more large buses from some obscure company. More upper echelon flip flops to run the money grabbing end of the fiasco.
And may as well add a few more bureaucrats to keep the money train chugging along

    1. Right. Unit 5 just bought some electric buses. They could learn from Connect Transit. But hey. Taxpayers got to keep making these pseudo-science guys rich, right?

  2. Did they hire or bring in a “Morgan” guy from Hawaii or Morton Illinois to “run and fix” Several years ago? Must be a Dem or not worked
