Weren’t Democrats the ones who demanded meetings be held when people could actually attend?

This meeting is at 8:30 AM.

As long as Lizzy Johnston is subject to possible investigation for illegally shaking down County employees to raise money to get rid of the elected auditor she shouldn’t be Board Chair.

But then democrats kept Mike Madigan in power for decades knowing he was corrupt.

Should be a fun meeting and possible Public Comments. If you are denied the right to comment let me know. The policy is still illegal and needs challenged. Update: You can show up 15 minutes in advance and request to speak.

Don’t miss this story. Read it. To those that listen, the end never justifies the means. Ok, you don’t think we should have an auditor. But engaging in political shake down of county employees to raise money to pass the referendum, which your means was against ethics and law, was not a proper way to address it. Raises a question, why are McLean County elected officials so gung-ho that they will throw the law by the wayside to get the auditor’s office elimination referendum passed. The fact they were willing to go to these ends makes the case for the auditor’s office, not against it. You want these people deciding the propriety of government expenditures.

Cassy, if you read my posts, be careful of these people and watch your back. They threw Trish Malott under the bus when she was no longer useful. They will stab you in the back while pretending to be your friend all to protect their own political rear end. Don’t take political sides, stay out of it.

To be clear to everyone, the county administrator could not have been doing what is alleged without leadership of the county board knowing. Don’t let them pretend they had no knowledge. Ridiculous.

Leadership, seriously? On its face this was wrong, if it is true. But whatever possessed you to think this was a good idea. In your zeal, you became sloppy and thought the rules didn’t apply to you and that you were above them. Whether you knew or just chose to look the other way, McLean County deserves better.

As I slowly start to wind my way out of politics, something like this has to be addressed. It can’t go unaddressed. The end does not justify the means.
