Contributions of $1000 of more to a campaign have to be reported within 24 hours.
As of the end of September Mboka has $12.70 in his Friends of Mboka Mwilambwe account: https://www.illinoissunshine.org/committees/36534/
No large contributions have been reported since then.
Meanwhile Cody Henricks has $11,209.51. Much of that money came from unions who expect a payback. More than one contribution came from former alderman Jeff (defund the police) Crabill. https://www.illinoissunshine.org/committees/39051/
Dan Brady has $47,186.02. I’m not familiar with most of his contributors: https://www.illinoissunshine.org/committees/7645/
Some of that money may have been left over from previous campaigns, but he did accumulate a lot in 2024.
Unless Mboka has a jackpot somewhere, I expect him to drop out.

Boy the teacher union (IPACE) sure liked Dan.
Yes they did. They buy politicians of both parties
I only see a small amount by people, the large $$ are Unions and PAC funds. Guess who Dan will represent. He is nice person, but loves spending OUR money. No good choices, as usual. The abuse Trump and associate give reason why “NO Good Person” would want! This needs to change, else America is doomed. Americans need to support GOOD representatives!
Better than Normal!
I think we need to see who is funneling money into these Marxist elected officials. How much money is being slid to them by gang bangers, drug dealers, and Muslims? To launder this money, it goes to local Socialist, federal, and state programs, or other non profit “foundations”.This probably sounds ridiculous but this could be why our Republicans can’t or won’t do anything because essentially their hands are tied and we have all those RHINOS as well. Look what happened to Stan Nord on the Normal Council and Koos running to change the status of our town when we wanted districts like Bloomington has. Where is the head of the snake? What I also find interesting is the push to lower crime with more gun control laws and the SAFETY -T Act. Remind me who has the guns, oh yeah, the criminals do illegally and has crime gone down?
I concur with this assessment (first hand) – county and Central Illinois wide issues too.
25 years ago a former mayor of Normal sent a check amount was around 1.7 million to pay off bonds and make Normal a debt free community
Now after 22 years of mayor koos leadership the town of Normal is now what 80 or 90 million in debt.
Let’s hear it Normal voters elect Koos again you all deserve every single dollar of debt that you, your children, and your grandchildren have to pay back.
Plus you have to make sure that your city manager Reece and her 2 assistant managers receive their $100’s of thousands of retirement yearly.
Pretty sad!
We want a community with a living wage , affordable housing , progressive vibes and ecological sustainability. We demand an inclusive public space that is safe from fear and bigotry. We demand our city stand ready to welcome all humans regardless of national origin or citizenship status and a place where we are free to exercise our reproductive rights free from corporate gender labels.
Cody Hendricks can lead us there.
Then go live in Canada or Europe.
Smart? Or buds?
YOU KNOW OUR CURRENT MAYOR IS AFRICAN AND WAS ENDORSED BY THE NAACP. IM NOT SURE WHAT YOU GOIN ON ABOUT.
Hope they have tons of money for him
A 3 way race in a low turnout odd year local election. Hint : anything can happen.
Tax increase will get more voters. Maybe a rent control question too.
I can hardly wait to see which of the mayor candidates support or oppose a tax increase and why.
GOP is holding a debate 1/18 for all 3
