The announcement wasn’t made before the meeting. Chair Lizzy Johnston called for a vote before announcing the name. She must have taken lessons from Chris Koos.
I’m sure Andy Ziebarth is a nice guy. Since the seat had to filled by a Republican, the choice should have been a person who obviously fit that description.
It isn’t.
County Board is an archaic joke. Other than provide county jobs for friends and family and raise property taxes and provide a mechanism for grift, it serves little purpose. In Mclean County , the board has 10 too many members. Notice how the county board covered up its own chairman soliciting political donations on government property from employees ? Crooked is as crooked does.
I cannot believe that is not a bigger scandal. People should be outraged that an elected official was doing that (or at a minimum was alleged to have done something like that). The optics are terrible and the accountability factor is zero. Sure there will be an “investigation” but nothing of note will come of it, even if impropriety is discovered — no one will resign no matter what.
Yes, another nice guy (connected to SFarm and local org shady projects and “club” most likely) Easily used as a toll perhaps and influenced by the “social engineering” and data abuse “leaders” and other Lizzy. Pay to play to “reimagine” and get them all (and pals, alumni and family) ahead and $$$ and influence.

Republican and Dem mean nothing locally anymore. Woke charity, planning & church/religion entities and system/data partners are another part of the bigger problem.
Sad- where are the investigations? Silence of course!
I wonder if the decision was made in a quorum at a secret location or phone calls one by one before the meeting?
But it was definitely predetermined.
