How much have property values increased?

By: Diane Benjamin

This website recaps how much property values have increased in the last 5 years. https://stacker.com/illinois/bloomingtonil/cities-fastest-growing-home-prices-bloomington-illinois-metro-area-0

The ranking order doesn’t make any sense to me since the link states they are listing cities with the most expensive homes.

Most of the local governments listed on your property tax bill had dollar signs dancing in their heads when values increased. This is why your property taxes are now unaffordable. The same people think you can afford higher property taxes because your value is much higher. They don’t understand these numbers mean nothing unless you sell. Most people aren’t selling because they won’t replace a low interest rate with a high one that buys less house.

These numbers are through 2024. Since local governments are the ones taxing you out of homes, you might want to vote April 1st. You can at least vote NO for the 1% Sales Tax increase. Schools will never have enough money.

Other small towns are also listed – click the link.

  1. This is what happens when you have Politicians running the Show, that spend money like a Drunken Liberal ! It not only steals the buying power of your money but it makes all of your Taxes up Robbing more of your money !

  2. Keep throwing $ at those fees, fundraisers and Boosters ( Never enough for the kids or extra curricular- you know) $$$

While they walk away with big benefits and pensions paid for life on our dime.

Decades long “marketing and planning” show by a select group of families/elites and political class that never has to deal with the real world.

A reason why folks hate Illinois and leave and nepotism is alive and well.
