Abby Scott is “grateful” for Alex Williams

By: Diane Benjain

Abby fails to state her husband, Corey Beirne, is employed by Unit 5. Beirne can’t say this himself since he is likely running for re-election:

Let me remind you what Alex Williams stated on social media:

Abby thinks his comments are positive?

According to Abby Scott, Bloomington Ward 9 alderman, the definition of “extremist” is:

-Christian Fox News viewers

-Anyone against open borders and illegal immigration

-Anyone with knowledge of real racism history and therefore dismisses “institutional” and “marginalized” communities

Alex Williams considers anyone who doesn’t agree with him a cult member. See this comment, also on the petition asking him to resign: demand-the-resignation-of-alex-williams

Evidently Abby Scott thinks anybody not on her side spreads lies. Hillary Clinton thought anyone who didn’t support her was deplorable. That comment helped defeat her and should defeat Williams and Scott. Both despise anyone who isn’t far left like them:

Obviously Abby Scott and Alex Williams do not want to unite the country. We have nothing in common with people who believe the above.

Pick a side, one doesn’t want to have conversations or find common ground.

Facts are also immaterial. Is that your side?

  1. She’s glad he’s a Leftist Progressive Marxist Democrats just like she is. He will help advance their critical theory and gender ideology in U5. They do not care one bit for the children. They just want them to be indoctrinated and brainwashed. The fact that they cannot read, spell, write, count back change, do math, etc. is meaningless to them. The fact that schools are unsafe doesn’t matter to them. They’re satisfied to graduate students who are functionally illiterate, as long as those golden parachutes await them at retirement.

  2. So, you’re saying that “one side” doesn’t want to have conversations or find common ground. You do realize that the Republican president called opponents vermin, said he hates his political opponents, and recently shared a video saying democrats are “pieces of shit.” You can hem and haw about what Alex Williams said or what Hillary Clinton said 10 years ago, but the fact is that no one has degraded the political discourse in our country more than the current president of the United States. That’s just a fact.

And, honestly, it doesn’t even matter if you try to deny that fact. The proof is in the pudding. Even if you think what Williams said is problematic (which it really isnt), it pales in comparison to the language Trump has normalized. That’s why your issue with Williams has gained such little traction with people in Unit 5. People just dont care because so much worse language has been normalized by Trump. I can promise you that he will COAST to reelection when he’s up again and why the rest of the board would also care less.

      1. Facts dont matter to me? Am I wrong about what Trump has said? Please point out which of those things are incorrect. I can share video with you or links if youd like.

And give Trump has said those things, can you please explain to me why sharing a video calling democrats “pieces of shit” or saying you hate your political opponents is not at least s equally problematic as what Williams said or Clinton calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables.”

You can attack me all youd like, but the fact is that there is no rational answer that doesn’t require you to be AT LEAST as equally outraged at Trump for the dehumanizing and insulting language he has used towards his political opponents. Yet, you all d your readers cant even bring yourselves to remotely call out Trump for what he says.

It’s a double standard, and its why people dont take you guys tryout outrage machine seriously.

          1. No, that answer doesn’t work. We live in a country that is pretty evenly split between Republicans and Democrats. When he says that he hates his political opponents or calls Democrats “pieces of shit” he is talking about 50% of the country. I’ve never heard him differentiate between between particular opponents he has issues with or the broader group of half the country that opposes him. And he uses that dehumanizing language more than anyone.

And by your logic, Democrats are equally justified in using their language that you find problematic. I could respond with “Why shouldn’t Demorats respond with that language to the people whose language has led to the break-in and attempted murder of Speaker Pelosi, the assassination of the Speaker of Minnesotas house, or the firebombing of Pennsylvania’s Governor’s house. It goes both ways. You cant say, “It’s just fine for my political allies to use dehumanizing and insulting language but unacceptable for my opponents to use uncivilized language (and what Williams said arguably doesnt even fall into that category).

              1. Yep, just what I figured youd do. Attack me to try and deflect from your unwillingness to even slightly call out the president for his language. Much easier to attack me than respond to the conundrum I raised in my post.

                  1. Accusing me of “picking a side,” which I really didnt do. I just gave an example of how Democrats could use your logic to justify their language towards Republicans in the same way you justify Trump’s language towards Democrats. Instead of responding to my post (which you should reread), you tried to make it about me. Maybe “attack” wasn’t the right word, more of deflecting onto me. Still havent responded to the issue I raised.

            1. So….Evidently you have conveniently forgotten Hillarys’ ” basket of deplorables” comment, and PedoJoes’ ” Trump supporters are trash” comment…Or all the times the left has called Trump and his supporters ” nazis “, ” fascists” ” the gestapo”, and ” Hitler”….

    1. You are calling out something Trump said? How about when Biden said all the horrid things he said? That was ok with you wasn’t it? I know…your reply will be Biden never said anything about Republicans. Biden never said anything about the American people. Step outside of the box and see what is really going on around you.

      1. How about this: trump and Alex Williams said negative things in poor taste and demonized the other side. Neither are the correct approach. Both are wrong in the bombastic and divisive rhetoric.

Having said that, I have extremely little ability to ever influence what Trump does or says. Trump doesn’t live in central Illinois. He isn’t one of the most local politicians that influences my life and my communities life the most. I know this because I literally could not tell there is a government shutdown unless I checked the media that it is currently happening.

Alex Williams, on the other hand, is the lesser magistrate, the local magistrate. His decisions directly and profound impact my local community, my children, my taxes. I also can much more easily influence and let Alex know my thoughts on his despicable comments than I ever could do to trump. Alex is my neighbor, he shops at the same stores i do.

It’s a clear difference on how it impacts me and my local community. Alex lost any high ground he might have had over trump when he descended to Trump’s level. So they are the same. Except one of them I have to stand behind in line at the grocery store. Which one do you think we should more loudly protest, criticize, and petition against?

        The answer is obvious.

    1. SERIOUSLY I’ll respond to you. I happen to think Trump could use more civil language. I think his ego and bombastic style are more than I would do. Calling all democrats anything is painting with too broad a brush. His demeanor is not politically polished for sure. So in a sense you might say I agree with your superficial point…..BUT the underlying truth is Trump with all his faults is exactly what it will take to save America… if it can be. The democrats and some RINOs have nearly destroyed our values. Men in women’s sports. Killing babies. Letting rioters burn down cities. Open borders. Free stuff for illegal aliens. A socialist Marxist agenda. Pro Palestine terrorists. Anti Semitic. Low educational standards. And on, and on and on. The left has America on the ropes in nearly every area.
So I don’t care what Trump says so long as he gets the job done. ( btw….is your guy in unit five getting the job done? Are the kids being give a good education or an indoctrination?)
An analogy ….. you come home from vacation. Raccoons have gotten into you home. Furniture all torn up. Shit all over the place. You want them gone exterminated. You don’t care what the guy looks like. Or if he’s got a plumbers crack and chews on a cigar…you just WANT THE RACCOONS GONE! Welcome Donald Trump, you’re my, our, exterminator.

  3. Nothing speaks more eloquently to the impotent disarray of the Mclean County Republican Party than the fact that Abby & her husband CJ were able to be elected in the districts they ‘represent’.

  4. Hey Diane. It seems like the radical left have started to co- opt the petition. They are posting comments in support of Alex and using what I would guess are fake names- Steve McPloppington, Don McFurryton III, etc. Hope this doesnt continue as it could erode the legitimacy of the petition.

    1. Yep. I dont think Zinky Zipperface and Yo Mom Fat are real people. Really hope liberals in town dont keep doing this. We need that petition to oust Williams. Can’t have them make a mockery of all that hard work. No one will take us seriously with those ridiculous names on there.

  5. I agree with Abby Scott. “Extremist distractions have no place in education. Our students and teachers deserve support, not division.”

The problem is, Unit 5’s Equity education and Williams are all about extremism and division. Things like:
    America is a racist nation.
People with light skin color and Christians are oppressors.
Dark skin color makes people helpless victims.
Civil rights law and Morality aren’t enough to advance equity.

Read their Equity Audit. They are the problem.

  6. SERIOUSLY couldn’t identify a 50/50 split if it were sitting on his/her/their face. Noting that in any election maybe 10-20% of the population votes, there’s no tellin’ the real split. Not to mention the lame stream media blasting their chosen propaganda 24/7. As in fact the democrat party has embraced socialist/marxist/communist ideology to support the immigrant invasion of America to seize and retain the same power that these poor people are duped into thinking they are escaping. Free stuff today, nothing tomorrow, welcoming you to life of more subservience in the near future. Literally preying on their ignorance does qualify the democrats for being a pieces of poo.

Enter Trump a former democrat that no longer aligned with the democrat party politics. A man with a geniune vocabulary as he calls out the treason trying to run America into the ground. Although not perfect, I’d much rather have him running the show than the ANY of those embracing the democrats designed policy of destroying America.

  7. But trump, but trump, but trump, but trump, but trump, regardless about how I feel about trump I am so fed up with people excusing others transgressions and shortcomings by throwing trumps name in there.
I have heard the term TDS, Trump derangement syndrome used to describe those that hate Trump ,so sad that these individuals can’t focus on what is really going on in their neighborhood and choose to accept those that are exhibiting bad behavior.
    How sad!

  8. If Donald J Trump belched and said “excuse me”, the haters afflicted with TDS symptoms would still trip all over themselves trying to find some fault with that comment.

  9. May I make some assumptions about the Alex Williams situation and Corey Beirnes’s absence in the whole discussion?
    1. Unit 5 has for some reason eliminated almost all talk of their Equity/CRT based pedagogy. There has been a complete redo of U5’s “Strategic Plans”. Their website has eliminated all educational activist, identity politics and CRT based references. It now looks reasonably sane and academically based. (cautiously waiting for the new mental health initiative to hit however)
    2. There is only one place that Equity is referenced and that is in William’s U5 Board of Education page. He has refused to follow the districts lead and has become angry about the turn of events as we can see from his unhinged online post. We will see when/if he is forced to take down his “Board of Education Equity Statement”.
    3. Corey Beirne was or may still be on the District Equity Leadership Team (if it exists) but has been told by Unit 5 to zip it or else. He’s put his foot in his mouth one too many times due to his uncontrolled anger at people that disagree with him. Which should cause voters to question his fitness for public office.
    4. Abby Scott speaks for Corey on education now except for Corey’s prolific use of many online pseudonyms where he still expresses his anger.

Where will it all end? The takedown of Equity has unhinged a number of people.

  10. I spoke with a Unit 5 administrator, and this topic came up. It was mentioned that they all know he stepped in a pile of manure with his comments, but the top administrators do not want to impact their cushy jobs by calling him out on his divisive statements because the board refused to. On its face, his comments conflict with what the district leadership encourages its students and staff to do.

Williams portrays a “nice guy” who wants to do well for the district. That may be the case to some degree; however, his rhetoric shows otherwise. You can respectfully disagree with someone’s stances or arguments and not drop to his level.

It doesn’t matter what Trump, H. Clinton, Vance, Harris, Biden, etc. have said. They have all said harmful things. We’re talking about the local school board President saying hateful things about people in the district. It is as simple as that. Trying to say what Williams did is ok “because Trump” is like saying it’s ok to shoplift $1,000 in merchandise one time because someone else stole $5,000 over three trips to the store.
