Last night I had a comment from a person I didn’t post. The writer claimed Matt Chapman was a great teacher who helped a son a lot. This person also stated Chapman wears shirts with political messages to spur classroom discussions.
That person failed to notice not every student at NCHS is in his classes. What message does his shirt send to all those other students? https://blnnews.com/2025/10/07/proof-political-propaganda-is-allowed-at-unit-5/
It says law enforcement deserves vilification. It says border security should never be a priority. It says this country belongs to the world, not citizens.
Libs of Tik Tok made Chapman and his shirt a national story, his picture was included:

What message were these staff sending to students a few years ago?

Remember when no one was allowed to say “All Lives Matter”? Have any of the above discussed what happened to all the money BLM received from liberal guilt? How many black people did BLM help? How many luxury houses did the BLM leadership buy with all that money?

This is what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion looks like. Those capable aren’t allowed to excel so the ones who aren’t look better.
Congrats Unit 5. Kids have one chance at an education. In 2022 31% who graduated and decided to attend a community college needed remediation. 2023 and 2024 numbers aren’t available.
Teachers can wear political shirts though. It isn’t for furthering education.
In 2022, 3.5% of students had a primary language other than English.
In 2023 it was 4.2%. In 2024 it was 5.2%.
In 2024 the enrollment was listed as 2,064. 5.2% is 107.
Unit 5 Scores and enrollment are all down since 2019… Almost 1000 fewer students.
But property taxes are up 40%. The superintendent and all the teachers get raise after raise, as if everything is fine.
Less students, worse scores? What did the money go towards? Fat government union contracts so teachers can not teach and instead indoctrinate.
Agree Doge – If every family in public schools had the means to afford a private education the exodus would be massive! Unit 5 and other districts that have been corrupted by ideology would die on the vine overnight. They know it and we know it.
You act like everyone in a unit 5 holds the same beliefs you do, that is not the case.
You might be right. Some parents might prefer that their kids can’t read or do math or that they have to pay for remedial courses in college. My mistake.
School proficiency drops, while our school taxes go up! Sad.

A few staff and kids have worn their red hats at school, seen a few MAGA shirts, Turning point shirts, lots of Eastview shirts. Chapman could wear an Obama 2028. Again seems like you are no where in the halls of this school, just have a photo someone else took or just came in 1 day.
I would ask the write of the letter this. Has he ever worn a Back the Blue teeshirt or one with an American flag on it? If not, characterizing Chapman as a sympathetic teacher trying to spur classroom discussions doesn’t hold water. In a post on X (before he shut it down) he stated that he was teaching his classes that America was founded on White Supremacy. Did he offer any viewpoint diversity? I don’t see any evidence of that.
There’s no way around it. Chapman’s intention is to show America in the worst light.
America isn’t perfect, but after 250 years we’ve come a long way and we are the best this world has to offer.
My high school teachers. Well the men wore shirts and ties. The women wore nice dresses. Never any confused cross dressers, thank God. First impression taught us, dress for success.
FROMHERE is right. How many kids get sent home for wearing t-shirts supporting conservative values? I call bullshit.
None, kids are only getting sent home if there are curse words or images promoting alcohol or drugs and risky images of a person’s body. Kids and staff wear Christian shirts, sports shirts, music shirts etc. and if you actually walk the halls you would see that.
The public can’t walk the halls
Academic Excellence is dead. Students are graduating who are functionally illiterate. Public schools are little more than a jobs and golden parachute retirement program.
