If you believe mail-in voting is the least secure way to vote (like Jimmy Carter did), file a witness slip opposing this bill:
HB 3355:
Amends the Election Code. Provides that an election authority may elect to mail a vote by mail ballot to all qualified voters instead of sending notices and applications for permanent vote by mail status. Requires the election authority to make a list of all voters to whom the vote by mail ballots will be sent, publicly post that list, and send the list to the State Board of Elections. Provides that a person who has never voted before may not be sent a vote by mail ballot under the provisions unless the person first provides the election authority with sufficient proof of identity and the election authority verifies the person’s proof of identity. Provides that a person may request, in writing, to the election authority that the person not receive a ballot sent under the provisions. Provides that the election authority shall keep a record of a person who has made a request and, in all future elections following receipt of the request, shall instead send the person who made the request a notice and application for permanent vote by mail status.
The only secure election is in-person, on paper, with a valid ID.

Paper bags were banned to save trees. Now government wants to charge you for using plastic bags.

You have to buy a permit to make S’mores in your backyard with your kids. I’m sure the local police have lots of free time to look for violators so they can ticket you. I’m also sure they don’t want to, they’d rather be stopping actual criminals.

Why Texas doesn’t have stupid laws:
The Texas Legislature meets in regular session only every two years (biennially), specifically in odd-numbered years. This is established by the Texas Constitution (Article III, Section 5), which requires the Legislature to convene every two years.
Key details:
- Regular sessions begin at noon on the second Tuesday in January of odd-numbered years (e.g., January 2025 for the 89th Legislature, January 2027 for the 90th).
- These sessions are limited to a maximum of 140 calendar days (about five months), typically ending in late May or early June.
- Texas is one of only a few states (along with Montana, Nevada, and North Dakota) that operates on a biennial schedule for regular sessions—most states meet annually.
- The governor can call special (or called) sessions at any time during the two-year period to address specific issues, but these are limited to about 30 days and only cover topics designated by the governor.
This part-time structure dates back to the state’s early history, intended to keep lawmakers closer to their constituents and everyday lives rather than making the role full-time. As of February 2026 (an even-numbered year), the Legislature is not in regular session—the most recent regular session (89th) ended in 2025, and the next begins in January 2027. Committee meetings or other activities may occur outside regular sessions, but no regular lawmaking happens until then unless a special session is called.
Illinois will pass hundreds of bills that aren’t needed just because they can.

There is also one targeting ICE to make it easier to Doxx, stalk, and harm ICE officers and their family.

Of course
The good news is Bloomington has Sharon Chung looking out for us in Springfield.
Chung is the face and voice of JB Pritzker in the (309). Chung has the influence needed to keep the money flowing from the state capitol in order to fund our local progressive grift. She is way more than just some unopposed token.
Keep an eye on the task force created out of HB 0043 that will look at forcing civil liability insurance on all owners of firearms. If it eventually becomes law, FOID card renewal without showing proof of a very expensive insurance policy would become impossible for most of us. Pritzker and his gang of marxists won’t give up trying to disarm the honest citizen.
Yet the FOID card has been judged to be unconstitutional but Illinois continues to enforce it. From what I understand, there is no expiration date on them anymore. Is that correct? Because if that’s the case, there shouldn’t be any renewal and maybe that is how they get away with it.
AI:
Illinois FOID Card Expiration Dates
Since January 1, 2022, newly issued or replaced Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) cards no longer include printed issuance or expiration dates on the card itself. Despite the absence of a printed date, FOID cards are still subject to expiration and remain active for a period of 10 years from the date of approval, provided the cardholder is not subject to revocation or suspension under the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card Act. Law enforcement officers can verify the status and expiration of FOID cards through the LEADS system.
Illinois State Police,
Illinois Firearms Services
Cardholders are typically notified by the Illinois State Police about their FOID card renewal 180 days before it expires. The renewal process involves submitting an application, updating personal information, providing a recent photograph, and paying a fee. Failure to renew a FOID card before its expiration can result in legal consequences, including the inability to legally possess firearms or ammunition.
Thank you!
