League of Women Voters Survey: Impact on McLean County Elections

By: Diane Benjamin

The League of Women Voters is conducting a survey aimed at creating a Commission like the Bloomington Election Commission is handle all elections in McLean County. They want to take the responsibility away from the elected County Clerk and hand it to unelected bureaucrats that CAN NOT be held accountable by voters. Of course they aren’t saying that out loud.

Take the survey here: LWV survey

They are attacking free and fair elections with policies that put “appointed” people like Diana Hauman in charge of elections. Make your voice heard!

LWV should be working to inform voters about filing to run for local offices and then promote voting. Evidently they prefer unopposed candidates to democracy. The last local election had a bunch of them and voter participation is dismal.

Proving they aren’t serious about “voter confusion”, they opposed abolishing the Bloomington Election Commission when it was on the ballot. That would have solved the problem. Instead they now have one of their supporters on the BEC Board
