I wonder if Abby Scott uses the same tone at home with her husband Corey Beirne? Ward 9 needs to see who those who bothered to vote chose.
Some members of the Council are still hurting over Sheila Montney being appointed to Behavioral Health Coordinating Council to represent the City of Bloomington instead of one of the far-left-of-center members who wanted the job. Large pots of money are attractive targets to direct to “friends”.
Abby conducted a planned attack on Montney for missing ONE – 1 hour meeting because of a family emergency. The BHCC has held at least 30 hours of meetings Montney did attend. That was over Abby’s head however. The 1 hour meeting she missed wasn’t about funding anyone. Watch the discussion, Mayor Brady and City Attorney, Chris Spanos, knew what Abby was up to ahead of time.
Just hit Play to hear Scott’s comments. Watch for how many times she is told the discussion is inappropriate when it isn’t on the agenda and therefore the public wasn’t notified. There will be a discussion at the July Committee of the Whole meeting, Scott didn’t want to wait. I hope that meeting clarifies whether Montney is representing the City or the Council. Funny how no other representatives to outside groups are required to undergoing interrogation.
Abby Scott evidently wants money to go to Molly Ward’s creation – Commission For Safe Communities which was formed to be temporary. Nothing in government is temporary so now it’s a permanent commission with TWO vacant seats. I remember when Ward proposed it and Montney was against burdening the citizens with more expenses when the PSCRB was already capable.

Of course the left of centers claimed it was needed. Abby now wants this commission to get tax money? I can’t wait to hear why they need Behavioral Health dollars when creating ways to curb gun violence didn’t make their final report after the first year.
Abby Scott thinks Sheila Montney should name a replacement if she can’t attend a meeting. Where was your replacement when you missed Council meetings Abby? Ward 9 doesn’t need represented at every meeting?
Just hit PLAY to hear an angry activist. Is this the same person Ward 9 voted for? It must be a miserable life to constantly dream up reasons to vilify people with a different world view than hers instead of representing her Ward. The July COW meeting will likely be more of the same.
This is so discouraging to know we have people like Abby Scott leading our city. Who was the bobble head sitting next to her? I am afraid he is going to need a neck adjustment today.
The mayor did handle the situation well as did Sheila Montney.
My first thought is former mayor Renner’s constant attack on former alderman Judy Stearns. Talk about disgusting.

Hendricks, Able and Ward often lock elbows and attempt to bum-rush Mrs. Montney, then quickly ask for a vote so that they can bulldoze the feckless portion of the council that is apparently too afraid to open their mouths. Sheila just asks them a few well researched questions, or presents drop-jawed facts, and they all dissipate into steaming vapor.
This time they must have elected Scott to be an attack dog. You could see Hendricks was egging her on at every step and wide-eyed Ward was enjoying the back and forth.
Scott has brought the prog squad to a new but revealing low this time. With Scott’s husband Corey Beirne immediately coming out with an attack ad against Sheila, their coordinated intentions are evident –If you can’t beat Sheila Montney try to disparage her. But attacking facts, logic and truth often don’t turn out well.
