Below is the solar RED Light added to the Stop Signs at Route 9 and Leroy-Lexington blacktop:

.
The first time I saw it it was solid red, when I saw it again it was flashing red. Will drivers finally notice it now and quit killing people by running the it?
Meanwhile, the rumble strips approaching this sign aren’t near as noticeable as the buckled payment on Route 9 driving west toward Bloomington. Starting just east of the Merna turnoff, the mini speed bumps are very noticeable every 5-10 seconds for a long stretch. Just when you think they are gone, you hit another one.
I wonder why westbound is much worse than eastbound?
I hope the State of Illinois does a better job with the new road through town!

Do you know why local elections are supposedly nonpartisan?
Political parties should be irrelevant to providing services like trash pickup or road paving. Public Safety used to be an obvious nonpartisan issue before DSA decided police needed defunded. Nonpartisan elections should help keep the focus on local issues rather than national party ideology.
Removing party labels can help ensure that local governments serve community interests rather than party interests, promoting collaboration among elected officials and reducing the partisan battles that often hinder progress at higher levels of government.
It’s obvious now Bloomington is infected with party ideology. That was easily accomplished when most people don’t bother to vote.

Bloomington had Democratic Socialists gatherings until they disbanded because of infighting. Review the platform DSA issued this year. They are no longer hiding they want to abolish America and institute their failed ideology: https://blnnews.com/2026/07/17/dsa-policies-will-fail/
This 8 year old story now has almost 14,000 views just in 2026: https://blnnews.com/2018/07/07/bloomington-is-at-war-thanks-to-tari/
The post below is from sometime post COVID, probably 2022. Some of these people are still here and one is elected – Krystle Able. Does she still support DSA policies? Does Sarah Hurley – West Bloomington Revitalization Project?
