Bloomington has 3 questions, the first one is anti-Israel, completely meaningless. The other 2 are just as meaningless and just meant to produce screams when they don’t get their way. Start with the LIME box. They are budgeting a $20,114,786 loss but will still have $48,290,736.
Have they been overtaxing everyone for years to accumulate that reserve?
Look at the RED box. Local Government Support must mean local property taxes. They plan to collect even more while Revenue from Federal, State, and Tuition are all DECREASING.
Decreasing tuition means fewer students – look at the BLUE box. Salaries and benefits are increasing anyway.
Ask Joshua Crockett to explain.
Ask him if his County Clerk’s office needs deficit spending too.
Keep in mind, this is the junior college that started in Towanda Plaza and claimed they would never need a campus.
Heartland community college has faced massive $20,000,000+ annual budget deficits each of the last 4 years, student enrollment continues to decline, and college staffing levels are being slashed, all while property taxes have been hiked on middle class families and seniors.
If Crocket is elected clerk, does he plan to run the clerks office, which includes our integral elections department, in a similarly negligent way?
How much will his plan to have Universal early voting work, where any voter can go to any voting center to vote? Is he telling everyone that this will require the elimination of paper ballots and instead use an expensive digital voting system, which like any technical system, is subject to hacking, data loss, tampering? How will his new paperless system respond to a coordinated attack by hundreds of AI agents?

Also, I love how the county board democrats are making this huge deal about Kathy Michael’s office being over budget by $400,000 last year, but their preferred replacement, Joshua Crockett, governs over a public school that has $20 MILLION in planned and intentional budget deficits.
Quick, Someone good at math, can you please confirm to the county Democrats that 20 million is bigger than 400,000?
