Tari Renner and Chris Koos just got back or are on the way back from San Francisco! I’m willing to bet it was at your expense since they were attending the US Conference of Mayors. This link shows both signed up to attend: http://usmayors.org/83rdAnnualMeeting/PreRegisteredMayorsPhotos.asp
I’m just going to list some highlights so you can see what you paid for:

Speakers at this years event included:
- Nancy Pelosi
- Hillary Clinton
- President Obama
I didn’t see any major Republican/Conservative speakers, but I assume there must have been a couple.

Bloomington is on the list! Maybe if you are the Mayor you are allowed to bully. Rules are for the rest of us.

A few of my favorites:
- CITIZENSHIP NOW
- CONDEMNING “RIGHT-TO-DISCRIMINATE” LAWS
- SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS WITH RIGOROUS AND COMPARABLE ASSESSMENTS
- REDUCING THE NATIONAL BURDEN OF STUDENT LOANS
- IN SUPPORT OF RAISING THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE
I could add a lot more.

I wonder if conservative mayors have their own conference. Probably not. They don’t need an indoctrination camp, they just do what government is supposed to do without the social engineering.
I bet you can’t wait to find out what this cost you!
Everything about this is appalling! The speakers, the topics, the resolutions. Against ALL of it, and I’m willing to bet the majority of BN citizens are too – if they only paid attention! Thank you for researching this!
Please share! The citizens need to be informed. The bird-cage liner and JBC sure aren’t going to report it!
Neither Bloomington nor Normal submitted a resolution so there was no need for Renner too attend except to “network” for his political aspirations and drink the water. Most of the resolutions are of the lofty and feel good variety but do not include an estimated cost. There are more important things to address here in Bloomington. But, additional spending on quality of life and suppressing citizens’ speech should not be included in the list.
Just another remind why the cause of “Defunding the Left” is worth fighting for!
Typo correction…….
Just another reminder why the cause of “Defunding the Left” is worth fighting for!
FWIW, all cities over 30k population are members. The current Vice President who will be the President of the organization in 2016 is Mayor Mick Cornett (R) of Oklahoma City, OK. Mayor Cornett is also President of the Republican Mayors and Local Officials, and addressed the 2012 Republican National Convention. The 2013-14 President was Mayor Scott Smith (R) of Mesa, AZ.
So, maybe next year the conference won’t be a Democratic convention?
‘Maybe an “Honouring the Confederacy in the 21st Century” session would’ve attracted more conservative mayors.
I seriously doubt it!
