Need proof Unit 5 exists to create activists?

By: Diane Benjamin

The Illinois State Board of Education hasn’t released the Report Card for Unit 5 yet for the 2022-2023 year. Keep in mind the previous year showed 29% of students headed to college needed Community College Remediation. https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/District.aspx?source=trends&Districtid=17064005026

How deficent are the students who choose not to go to college? Unit 5 has one job: education. That 29% number proves they are failing at their only job.

Below is what Unit 5 is teaching: activism. This is why America is never referred to by the left as a Republic. It is always called a democracy because they want the loudest voices to win while ignoring representative government. I wonder at what grade the burning and looting lessons start?

By 2nd grade the kids are evidently taught to unionize to get their way:

Keep in mind this is the same guy who is music teacher with books in his classroom to make sure little kids know about LGBTQ issues. Beirne also promised to teach Critical Race Theory even if it was illegal. He’s also an elected County Board member. https://blnnews.com/2022/09/21/the-truth-about-district-10-candidate-corey-beirne/

  1. Corey Beirne is an anarchistic and I’m sure he would accept that title with pride. This wasn’t a lesson on collective bargaining.
Stepping completely out of his lane as a music teacher, he would rather instill Marxist principles into the innocent minds of his 2nd graders.

What his lesson taught his kids.
    1. Children do not have to listen to their teachers. They are on the same level as their teacher. This is a principle that comes directly from the Marxist Paulo Freire (who is referenced in Unit 5’s Equity Plan). Freire’s teaching principles are the basis of the Equity movement in America. He believed that academics are secondary to social revolution. So does Beirne.
    2. Children do not have to listen to their parents. Beirne is prepping his students for the day that Unit 5 tells them they can assume any gender they want without regard for their parent’s involvement.
    3. Children can “bargain” with authority. In other words, authority and rules are inconsequential in social settings such as education. Children need the structure of authority until their brains are developed enough to understand the consequences of decisions they make. Beirne is taking down this structure to the detriment of these children.
    4. Collective bargaining does not belong in the grade school classroom. Children should not be involved in what and how subjects are taught or who is in control of the classroom. I pity future teachers who have to try and teach in such an environment.

Corey Beirne needs to be fired. He has shown time and again that he has no respect for parents, and he has no understanding of what it means to be a teacher.

  2. How any parent could allow Corey Beirne to be around their children is beyond me. How far the music program has fallen.

  3. His post was a joke. However, the real humor of the situation, now, is all of these grown adults having full-on meltdowns in the comments section over children under the age of 10 wanting to see their teacher’s pet cat. Good lord.

    1. @ComedyHour
Children making demands of the teacher and refusing an assignment by the teacher, then staging a “work stoppage” until they get their way. What could possibly go wrong?

Discipline in public schools is bad and getting worse every day. Teachers are being assaulted. Many are quitting because the classroom is out of control.

We don’t need teachers like this who think it’s cute to teach grade schoolers to challenge the teacher’s authority. Maybe he needs to move to high school and try to deal with what he’s promoting in grade school.
No, instead he hides in 2nd grade classrooms, radicalizes the children, pats them on the head and says “go get ‘em kid”.

      What a putz.

  4. Can I add something here? This kind of teaching behavior is all according to plan and Beirne knows it full well as a member of the Equity leadership team.

Goal 4 – “in each grade and within each content, we have curriculum and resources aligned with equitable pedagogical beliefs”.

Unit 5’s Equity Action Plan will continue to push Equity principles which are Marxist and CRT based. If someone would like to challenge this statement, feel free.

As I predicted, now that Unit 5 has firmed up their progressive school board and solved their taxing issue, they will begin to implement “next steps” in their equity plan. This is one of those “next steps”. They will be small but build upon each other and over time we will have a new education system that considers academics to be secondary to social revolution. Will academics achievement improve? Nope. Will angry, destructive children become main stream? Yes.

This little trick of Beirne’s is a perfect example of that.
