What happened to $10,000?

By: Diane Benjamin

2 pieces of information I received from the City of Bloomington about the Gun Buy Back event:

The document showing what the Bloomington City Council approved is in this story: https://blnnews.com/2023/10/24/the-120000-waste/

It says $60,000.

Excerpt:

According to BPD’s social media post, “There was a total of $50,000 allocated for the cash payouts and all the funds were exhausted.”

Where’s the other $10,000? Bloomington police pocketed it for overhead?

$60,000 was also allotted to the gun safe giveaway, the police spent all but $2.20 of that on gun safes that weren’t made for guns: https://blnnews.com/2023/06/14/dont-store-guns-in-the-free-gun-safe-you-got-from-the-bloomington-il-police/

If the Council says $60,000 is allocated for a Gun Buy Back program, by who’s authority was it changed to $50,000? Where is the other $10,000?

  1. What’s the new tax rate for CIRA going to be, and how long do you suppose it will be until it gets raised, now that they have new ground to consider??

  2. The other $10k went in the Chief’s pocket. Is he a woke liberal after all. He should not have a badge on. What a disgrace.
