If between 75 and 100 people are housed here they competed against citizens for housing. Rents going up? This is why. Do they have jobs? How many citizens wanted those jobs and didn’t get them?
Second – the Immigration Project got your tax money from the State of Illinois to pay the expenses of “migrants”. If the border wasn’t wide open and crossing it requires giving cartels whatever they want, these people wouldn’t be victims. Sorry Charlotte Alvarez, illegal immigration is breaking taxpayers. Unit 5 shouldn’t be educating people who illegally crossed the border at taxpayer expense. How many salaries, pensions, and benefit dollars does it take to educate that many English As A Second Language kids?

Maybe months ago we should have had a proclamation that states McLean County refuses to be a part of, or an enabler of the multitude of humanitarian disasters an open border causes. We should have made the hard decisions long ago but now is not too late. This is true compassion.

I wonder why Alvarez didn’t mention this information at the County Board meeting the other night. It might have raised a few eyebrows and people might have questioned their votes a bit more.
Everyone keeps joking about sending the illegals to the board members houses when they get here but would there be anything illegal about giving the migrants a QR code with the public addresses of all the board members who voted against Eriksons proposal ? It would be a good way to help the migrants and the board members can deal with the consequences of their own actions. But I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know if that’s legal.

Accept non citizens in (U of I) university/College, give them Link/food stamp $, free housing and utilities, free $, free tuition, healthcare, and classes and more then place them in top pay jibs with$ and free benefits in college, state depts, medical orgs, industry and public service and partners industries
While Americans go in debt and barely can get good jobs or affordable housing or public aid or services.
