Proterra is Solyndra

By: Diane Benjamin

The Connect Transit Board meets at 4:30 today. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFica7k-pGY

Will any of the below be discussed? 🤣😂

Remember when Solyndra was supposed to create a ton of solar panels, got tons of federal money, and then declared bankruptcy. Of course no one was ever held accountable, so this “making friends of government rich” scheme was repeated with Proterra. Proof of that is Biden’s energy secretary made $1.6 million when she sold the stock: https://blnnews.com/2024/01/21/hum-connect-lost-their-electric-buses/

In case you forgot Solyndra: https://www.cato.org/blog/solyndra-case-study-green-energy-cronyism-failure-central-planning

Below is the recent history of Connect Transit’s electric buses, all of the below were received by FOIA:

The letter below details the problems with Proterra. It isn’t bankruptcy or a parts shortage. The design is garbage! I have more! Stay tuned.

Again, blame Koos and Mwilambwe for appointing the Board that fell for green technology that doesn’t work – It’s Your Tax Dollars thrown away. Koos can’t blame anyone but himself since his council was told to rubberstamp whoever he picks. The Bloomington Council never objects, just rubberstamps too.

  1. The joke is on the taxpayers of Bloomington Normal who paid for these LEMONS. Is there still a “Lemon Law?” Proterra got millions of dollars of our money, and Bloomington Normal essentially got Lemons. How much of our money can we expect to get back out of Proterra’s Bankruptcy filing? Perhaps the board would appreciate an ice cold pitcher of Lemonade and a large bowl of Lemons. Do Not rely on a bus to get you to your job everyday. You’ll hardly be able to ever get there.

  2. What Is a Sunk Cost Trap?
“Sunk cost trap refers to a tendency for people to irrationally follow through on an activity that is not meeting their expectations. This is because of the time and/or money they have already invested. ”

It requires bravery and hard work to move away from a failed endeavor.
Will the board just continue to flush our money because it’s the easy out. The one that puts the burden on others solve the problem.

I’m not sure that the board is brave enough or wants to work that hard.

  3. Too bad disconnect board members and both city councils are totally illiterate and don’t know how to research. Then again they still would have bought them out of total stupidity. Not only did they waste taxpayer money but with the abbreviated routes some people are going to have to find alternate ways to get around. BLONO citizens should be livid about the waste of their money. But my guess is unless they read your website they will never know. The local rag would never tell the truth about this. Neither will the disconnect board and the city councils.
