It’s easy to tell when leftists need other people’s money, a conga line of speakers show up to provide “their” facts. In the case of Stepping Stones it was 6.
The Stepping Stones program lost federal grant money but did capture some of the loss through other sources. The County agreed to provide up to $100,000 through 12/31/24 if needed. The YWCA is trying to recoup the rest of their grant loss since this is a one time allocation.
Although this program helps many women, the discussion shows the difference between the right and the left. Right leaning Chuck Erickson pulled this from the Consent Agenda just to clarify the terms after media asked questions. Jim Soeldner then mentioned money the YWCA has in reserves, he said around $3 million.
That led to left leaning Board members commenting with “feelings” and total disregard for allocating scarce resources.
The vote was unanimous to provide up to $100,000. I don’t have a problem with this short term funding. It does prove how this country got in massive debt however. Everything is essential, most members of both parties have total disregard for “we the people” when considering spending. “Feelings” drive spending, just ask any local politician about Connect Transit.
Since having a discussion about “essential spending” isn’t happening, inflation will continue. That is theft of your money. We need more Chuck Ericksons and Jim Soeldners who at least think before throwing your money around. We need fewer bleeding heart progressives who don’t. “Essential” can’t be used to replace personal responsibility.

What difference does it make when the presumed conservatives on the board vote to give them money anyway after pulling the issue from consent agenda? All political theatre. All YWCA operations nationwide are Socialist/Communist hellholes that actively promote implementation of leftist political policies. They have no right to public money. All the women I saw in this program were minority ghetto trash that could only speak eubonics and laughing throughout the whole program. It was a joke to them. After they ” graduated” probably went right back to their abuser or someone of the same ilk. BN is a freaking joke from top to bottom.

And at the YMCA, they kicked out the Silver Sneakers program. I’ll bet this was a selling point when they wanted our tax money to build it. Senior Citizens no longer welcome. Unconscionable!
The first move to totally politicizing the YWCA was eliminating any program that had anything to do with physical fitness. Any member that paid dues for the right reasons knew then that the organization was preparing to go totally off the rails. The radical women who ran the social programs were gleeful and couldn’t wait to up the leftist political ante. All the programs and daycare teaching immediately became more radicalized. The whole operation depends on government handouts for day to day operations. Most people using the YW for daycare get government handouts.
