Maybe the voting age should be reconsidered. Illinois has FORTY DAYS of early voting, obviously this makes people doubt the validity of elections, but the ISU kids are now demanding election day off so they can vote because 40 days isn’t nearly enough:
Citizenship requires responsibility. The polls open at 6:00 am. I bet there isn’t a line of 1200 kids at that time. Probably not at 7:00 am or even 8:00 am.
Why did 1200 show up to register to vote on election day? Neither party had a voter registration drive BEFORE election day? Voting at ISU isn’t inaccessible, civic engagement requires responsible citizens. Adulting is hard, start working on it BEFORE the election.
I wonder if the kids know how much money the County has wasted making voting on campus available and few kids bothered to show up?
If these snowflakes can’t figure out how to vote in 40 days why would any company want to hire them when they graduate?
This, on top of wanting 5 mental health days per year. So sad. They will never make in the real world.
As someone who works at ISU for the election, no one stood in line for hours. That’s exaggeration and stretching reality out a bit!
I’m shocked that the ISU students even have the mental capacity to write this statement let alone understand what they are demanding. If Illinois grade scores are any example they probably had to have someone else create this statement! As for voting,I wonder who reads the ballot to them so they can vote!
