  1. So let me get this straight. Unit 5 steals more of our hard earned tax dollars, employs more people for dei, and children are graduating who cannot read, write, spell, do math. Why would anyone continue to send their children here? Colossal waste of money and time. As taxpayers we should demand a refund.

    1. Rural McLean County is bad too

Decades of lies and money grans for the “special” families

  2. Residents of Bloomington Normal your tax dollars are being stolen and all you parents you have to have your heads buried in the sand if you don’t swarm the school board meetings and demand accountability
    These results are absolutely disgusting
You want to help your children get the heck out of Illinois

  3. feel the pain even at Small rural schools in McLean county for years yet money and taxes thrown to districts and schools and “never enough” (poor me – poor kids – poor teachers….marketing messages never end)

Even special ed admin and teachers (high salary/pension and raises all along) came to school drunk daily (all we wanted was the child/teen to learn basic reading and writing and bare minimum math. She was quite able and we taught her AFTER she graduated (how she graduated is beyond me)

The non stop glorifying of admin and teachers and staff got exhausting knowing reality of what little is really done fir those labeled “non-gifted” or “non-athletic” category goes in (and nothing got done) – union clout

This is just one example of how taxes are exploited (many many-other examples)

PROOF cant be hidden but the marketing tactics never end.
Decades of same thing – money funnels to “leaders”

Its all fake and we pay more and more for it

  4. Where in world are the black parents how can they sit by and watch the dismal results of the education that your children are receiving
The white population has been brow beaten for years about why the black community is so destitute how can they accept this level of education that your children are achieving in the local school districts
Get off your asses and swarm the district meetings and demand an answer to this poor academic performance
How sad that we are graduating children with this low level of education

  5. I have to back up I used the phrase black parents statistics show that population of single family black children has grown by a million over the last years I guess the single parent is busy working to support her children or busy making more so they cannot be involved with their children’s education
Either way they the mother or father need to be involved heavily with their children’s education
Diversity equity and inclusion is not the answer
Parents get off your asses I did when my children were in school

  6. Black parents where the hell are you why are you not commenting about the dismal performance that your children are achieving at these schools speak up I want to hear your outrage

    1. Want to ‘End White Supremacy’?
Stop re-electing the failed leadership of inner city schools!

  7. So I am curious, proficient at what grade level? High school? 8th grade? 100% agree this dismal, but what exactly is the statistic telling us? I am not always a fan of statistics, because they can be manipulated however the author wants them to be. Does this stat mean 8th graders are not reading at an 8th grade level, but we are graduating 79% of high school students? As a parent with kiddos about to go into Kindergarten, this is super concerning, but I am also an involved parent. I do know that at my boys’ school yesterday was the most parents I had seen there in 2 years. Sad it took the last day of preschool for the parents to show up.

  8. … and when ‘teachers’ run for public office you get the same kind of results…

    1. Yep- when you have retired teachers getting pensions and conflicts of interest galore in every area and teachers/union heads on school boards the result is a money grab.

  9. *NOW* is the time to step up! (Actually Before now, but the sooner the better!)
FInd good people to run for school board, and give them encouragement, and volunteer hours, and as much money and word-of-mouth as you can!

Same goes for other local offices, like Bloomington City Council, Dictator Of Normal, and other offices!
