Did you know Illinois has a looming electricity crisis?

By: Diane Benjamin

If you think electricity comes from a switch on the wall, keep reading. Illinois thinks 100 renewable electricity is possible. It isn’t.

Start with this story to understand the difference between baseload and intermittent production: https://icl.coop/the-difference-between-baseload-and-intermittent-power/

That editorial was in the August issue of Illinois Country Living Magazine sent to Corn Belt Energy members.

Excerpts:

If you live in central or southern Illinois, you have every right to read this and angrily say, “It’s about time!”

There, electricity bills already jumped as much as 50%, and that area’s electrical grid manager, MISO, warned over two years ago of the “high risk” of brownouts in your area.

But reality usually strikes Illinois’ political elites only when it hits northern Illinois, especially Chicago and Cook County. That’s just what happened with the statewide electricity mess those elites have gotten us into.

Illinois passed the Clean Energy Jobs Act in 2021. JB champions a Green Energy mandate. Of course from the previous story GREEN doesn’t produce a constant source of renewable energy.

More Excerpts:

Still think electricity comes from a light switch?

Because of the clueless Illinois politicians who want power plants closed, someday that switch on the wall is not going to work or you will be paying exorbitant rates for electricity.

State of Illinois plan: https://ipa.illinois.gov/public-act-102-0662-implementation.html

You shouldn’t be surprised Diversity and Equity are in the first paragraph. Incompetent unqualified pencil pushers have an agenda that doesn’t include cheap energy.

Vote better Illinois.

  1. We recently got back from a car trip to the east. Almost as soon as we crossed the state line at Danville we started to see wind turbines. The land scape was littered with them all the way home! Very few were even turning. Going north to Rockford is the same thing. These fools will have Illinois just one big turbine farm if they keep at it.

  2. Remember when Kinzinger bragged bout working to “shut power plants down” (I do)
