If you haven’t been keeping track of all the layoffs and plant closures in Illinois, you should:
https://www.illinoisworknet.com/LayoffRecovery/Pages/IllinoisWARNData.aspx
So far in November there have been 259 people affected.
October has 1,654.
Almost 2000 people and their families won’t have a Merry Christmas this year.
Illinois has a high unemployment rate – look at surrounding states:

Illinois Democrats are already plotting to put a BINDING amendment on the next national election ballot. They think you want a permanent tax on millionaires since the advisory question passed. You will not be getting the promised property tax relief. Without ending lavish unaffordable pensions your property taxes will never go down.
See proof from California: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/leaving-rich-americans-ditching-california-163000441.html
Progressive taxation will cause unemployment to increase because more people will leave Illinois. Millionaires are the job creators. They will move to states who want their businesses. Illinois democrats obviously don’t.

Am sure Illinois Unemployment rate is higher as it ignores underemployed, those that had to drop out of unemployment rolls and still not working or working multiple part time jobs just to have an income at all. IDES and the HR and recruiting systems seems to have major issues as well with process, workflow and cyber incidents for some time (calling it Workforce and Innovation partnerships).
Unfortunately. we all pay for these “innovations and partnerships” and have to deal with the fall out and headaches and being impacted negatively and financially.
Its not just tax. How much did the Pritzker’s get for housing illegals in their hotels. That money came from taxpayer pockets. No wonder he wants Chicago to remain a sanctuary city and oppose efforts by the Trump administration to remove illegals.
