Normal’s Community Investment Plan:

I have no plans to watch Normal’s meeting last night where the Community Investment Plan was passed. The underpass spending is much less than the bids received. Since Normal has no one with better ideology to vote for in the April 1st election, watching it to see if there was an explanation is a waste of time.
See the bids here: https://blnnews.com/2024/11/27/normals-underpass-history/
The expected $23 million price tag in 2022 is also much higher now. It’s now over $26 million to save 50 feet for walkers and bikers while vehicles wait for trains to clear the tracks.
That is PROGRESSIVE ideology! Congrats

It is hard to imagine a bigger waste of taxpayer dollars. This rivals the Connect Transit money pit. Why?
Same progressive ideology that built the Coliseum
With all that money saved , how about another raise for the Normal town/village manager ?
Close to $90,000 isn’t near enough. That’s before benefits 😂
Where are the residents protesting at meetings. Stay silent and don’t bother to vote and this is what you get . Government waste at its best.
Normal silenced all objections and voters didn’t care enough to want change.
I can’t help but believe this is a money laundering thing. But with Normal, a lot of it seems to be friends helping friends. Not sure though, because I’m not a friend.
Look up Koos campaign donations
why is it Bloomington gets a 12 million dollar water park, Normal gets a 24 million dollar turtle tunnel
I don’t remember Bloomington get a grant. Maybe they did
