Illinois education is being run by some very very sick evil people. Deerfield has made national news thanks to their policy on trannies in middle school. It seems as if Illinois is trying to see

If you read those documents there are some things that seem to make sense except for the fact that they force you to also agree with deeper ideological world views that the majority of Americans reject.
Gallup polls (2023) show only 36% of U.S. adults fully accept gender as non-binary; a 2022 Pew survey found 60% believe race-based affirmative action should end. DEI feels like being conscripted into battles—systemic racism, gender norms—many don’t see or want. Illinois education is conscripting our children into their ideological battles, turning them into the activists for the woke minority.
We are told that systemic racism is everywhere, and that gender fluidity is normal and should even be celebrated. These aren’t real enough to most Americans to trade for children that can’t read and write.
FROMHERE…….with respect I must take umbrage with your post. We should give zero credibility to gender fluidity and systematic racism! None. Just because 36% of adults have been made WOKE enough to accept abhorrent dogma doesn’t make it real! Same idea with racism. Giving those ideas ANY legitimacy at all is wrong. I know you didn’t do that exactly…..I just want to clarify that those sick WOKE ideas should get no daylight!!!
Duroc. I agree with what you say. I wasn’t excusing the celebration of gender fluidity or the bigotry of CRT in any way. Those are the underlying woke ideologies I refer to. My point is that some of what is contained in this training are common sense. Things like checking your emotions, including others in discussions, not being overbearing, being sensitive to other people’s point of view, and the like are all things that we should do as normal human beings and they should be taught in school.
I think that one of the reasons they’ve gotten so far with their ideology is that they sprinkle common sense truths with devious self-destructive ideologies. CRT and fluidity of identity and other woke beliefs should be rejected but we should not throw the baby out with the bath water.
Agreed. Very perceptive how they’ve advanced their objective and very true. Which is sad because the “baby in the bathwater” you refer to is simply what we all should have been taught by our mothers at home. I don’t think teachers should NEED to be trained on basic common sense decency. That should be part of K-12 teachers DNA or they shouldn’t be teaching. I mean if the TEACHER needs taught common decency we’re in bigger trouble than I ever thought! So I vote to eliminate all these sorts of training and concentrate on reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Some though need to be taught decent moral standards….and some basic biology.
