Illinois is going to lose the AI war because of the Democratic Party’s war on fossil fuels. AI takes MASSIVE amounts of energy, wind and solar can never produce enough and it’s too expensive. Of course citizens are already seeing the electricity price increases because of these failed policies. Under Illinois law solar companies could cover the entire County with solar farms and nobody locally can stop them. https://blnnews.com/2025/07/19/raped-via-shell-bill/
Evidently growing food and the corn used for ethanol isn’t important.
A reader yesterday tried to claim in comments fossil fuels get far more subsidies. That isn’t true:

These slides are from a presentation given by Steve Goreham in Ohio. Steve has been providing Climate facts instead of propaganda for many years.
See the entire presentation here:

Annual double digit property tax increases, increased punitive regulations, input costs and continually low commodity prices force farmers and landowners to look for other income options. The blame, as usual, falls on the political class, and parasitic taxing bodies.
Food? No worries. Socialists always sems to have free stuff to give away to the millstones of society.
So Ameren rates went up 50% ??? The intended destruction of the middle class accelerates!

Climate change propaganda was created to do that!
Batteries not included.
Backing up solar and wind requires a minimum of 1-2 days worth of America’s power from batteries (15-30 TWh). Keeping coal, gas plants ready to go online on a moments notice isn’t an option. Nuclear? sure but that isn’t the democrat’s 2035 plan.
Batteries are massively costly in themselves but especially when they only last 10 years and lose efficiency every year.
How much common sense does it take to declare that the Democrat’s (more correctly Democratic Socialist’s) plan for 100% renewables by 2035 is a pipe dream? Definitely more than their heroes and party leaders AOC and Mamdani have.
