Page down to Illinois, there are a lot of districts listed. Yes, Unit 5 is one of them but District 87 isn’t.
Transgender/Gender Nonconforming Policies openly state that district personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents.
Third paragraph:
“The Building Principal, Nondiscrimination Coordinator, and/or Complaint Manager, with input from others as appropriate, will implement this procedure. They will work with each transgender, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming student, and as appropriate with the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s), to manage a student’s accommodations and supports on a case-by-case basis.”
Interpretation:
“as appropriate” would allow any principal in the district to not inform the parents if for instance the child said they didn’t want their parents to know.

The goal of an accommodation is to allow a transgender, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming student to equally participate in educational and co-curricular opportunities. The right of transgender students to accommodations is generally found in legislation (IHRA and Title IX) but has not been fully interpreted by the courts. Determining appropriate accommodations must be made on a case-by-case basis depending upon the needs expressed by the student.

If the federal government is still withholding money from Unit 5, now you know why. At the very least Unit 5 is violating Title IX. Their policies also endanger females in gym class.
The Unit 5 policy is “affirming” instead of realizing most kids with gender dysphoria outgrow it.

A whole BUNCH of parents need to COMPLAIN! It is VERY SAD that the majority of parents (and citizens overall) disagree with this cult, but nobody will say anything about it… no complaints… even for the sake of their own children and grand children! Very. Sad. ☹️
They passed this in December of 2023 I think. But I distinctly remember them having this on the agenda. And of course they do this when it’s Christmas time and everyone is busy, getting ready for Christmas, attending concerts and recitals, etc. Unit 5 is evil.

Unit 5 has moved (hidden) all of their DEI related information out of the “DEI Department” (it was eliminated) into a new department called “Student Supports”. The former head of DEI at Unit 5 (Shelvin) had her title changed to District Administrator.
So in other words, the same people pushing DEI are still there at the school pushing DEI?
Yes. Unit 5 is following the education mandate of the Illinois State Board of Education which falls in line with the Pritzker family’s worldview. (His brother is a trans). So unit5 has Sime cover until someone files a lawsuit and then everyone gets sued and loses. And unit 5 asks us for more money.
Just remember this when Unit 5 has another referendum on ballot. Your tax dollars are paying for this!
