I can’t wait for property bills next year. I can’t wait to hear how much property taxes increase because those who bothered to vote were conned into believing their property taxes would decrease if the 1% Sales Tax increase passed. Still no word from the State’s Attorney on the collusion investigation.

Are they buying electric buses since they worked so well for Connect Transit? The documentation doesn’t say. If anyone asked or said at the meeting I will never know. The vimeo video has been spinning for over an hour. Maybe that is why Unit 5 doesn’t use YouTube instead of this derelict video program. They must not want people to know. YouTube could have Live Streamed and recorded it at the same time.
Superintendent Weikle (she/her/hers) is retiring in 5 years. If the teachers union continues to control the school board when she retires, the left wing nonsense at Unit 5 will continue when she is replaced by someone even farther left. Nobody ran against the union candidates last April.
Unit 5 schools used educate. If you want your kids to have better, it’s up to you to change the board. Start now.

Many more parents need to realize government schools no longer educate. Their mission is to create activists. No wonder mental illness is rampant.
Another message sent to me: My 12 year old granddaughter is home schooled. All her friends go to public schools. (Unit 5) They told her today that she can choose her gender. Something is definitely wrong if this is what’s being taught in our schools.
solution is simple, pull your students from the government schools. They can’t justify spending increases forever if their enrollment continues to fall and fall. Spending directly controls how much the schools hike your taxes. A spending freeze or spending cut must occur if taxes are ever to stop going up up up.
D87 enrollment dropped 15% since 2019, and unit 5 dropped 6%.
Why do they need so many more buses if unit 5 literally has 800 less students than 5 years ago? How does less students = more buses? Same with teachers, administrators, support staff, etc.
Electric buses? Ask the Herscher, IL school district how that went. They purchased a fleet of electric buses enticed by a federal grant (our tax dollars), manufactured at an Illinois plant, also heavily subsidized by our tax dollars.
The plant has since gone out of business and the buses are inoperable and parked on the fence.
That is what happens when you put Sleepy Joe and JB in charge and then elect the left to your school board.
The buses appear to be diesel from Central States Buses. What’s more important is to read the bilingual report. What is the “One Way Dual Language program”? Cedar ridge has half of its bilingual students come from outside the home school area. Average class size is only 14 students. Grades 3 to 5 have 2 teachers in each room for 14 students.

Unit 5 needs more Short Buses.
This article really concerns me. It seems like our schools are becoming places that push radical ideas instead of educating kids properly. I think parents need to be more involved and demand change.
