Beirne Comedy

Remember the Power Couples:

Every person in this photo voted to raise your property taxes last year. Two County, two City of Bloomington.

Corey Beirne wants 4 more years:

Want 4 more years of tax increases?

Corey Beirne is a progressive – just like Krystle Able. Raising property taxes is how “progress” is made.

Do you know Able is Democratic Socialist? I wonder if Corey Beirne really wants a Krystle endorsement again.

Sounds so nice until you understand what DSA stands for. Read what I didn’t post yesterday from their website, link in this story: https://blnnews.com/2026/07/17/dsa-policies-will-fail/

DSA thinks the Constitution needs abolished. Krystle should be kicked out office for pretending to preserve, protect, and defend it. Bernie?

  1. Way past time to “take out the DemonRat trash from Bloomington-Normal. But you have to find a way to encourage people to get out and vote! Otherwise, your voters are only those that benefit from the gravy train the rats create.

      1. Here’s one way.
        Yard signs for Steinkoenig

I think even if you don’t live in district 10 it’s a good idea to help. Beirne is on a number of committees that affect the whole county. He has also suggested DEI training within the board.

Beirne represents a small fraction of his constituents but a large percentage of those with enough gumption to vote. Steinkoenig’s name needs to be seen.

A donation to Steinkoenig’s campaign would help too. I’ll be doing whatever I can to stop radical leftism growth in McLean County.

  2. Good god. You guys constantly labeling people you disagree with as “Demon Rats” is one of the most ridiculous and unchristian things you could be doing. Is there no one you disagree with or is on the other side od the aisle that you think is a decent person? You people accuse others of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” yet can’t identify the humanity or decency of a single person with whom you disagree politically.

I’m on the left side of the political spectrum. I want to live in a community that is safe, lifts people up, treats people fairly, and works for everyone. We all want a healthy community. I volunteer in my community, am friends with people who voted for Trump, and I recognize that although I have deep disagreements with them and their view of the world, that they are human beings too. Labeling people as “scum” and “Demon Rats” just because you disagree with them about the best path forward hurts our community, is dehumanizing towards your friends and neighbors on the left, and is incredibly unchristian of you.

People used to call this stuff out. I remember John McCain calling out fellow Republicans during his presidential campaign for espousing hate and dehumanizing language towards Barack Obama.

We’ve got to be better people.

    1. Be Better –
I agree. Here’s how one of the county board representatives recently labeled his fellow citizens on Facebook – “Welcome back to the trolls, bigots, and ignorant doom‑shouters who continue to mine my page for content.” – Corey Beirne

Someone who should be held to a higer standard constantly disapoints.

      1. Thats fine to call him him out for that. Im not down with him labeling people like that. Can you also concede that Trump says lots of things equally as problematic and that it is fair for him to be called out for that as well? If we want the state of our political discourse to improve we have to stop holding people with which we disagree to a higher standard than those for whom we agree.

Our inability to do that is a major reason why we wind up with so many clowns in office, on both sides of the aisle.

        1. If your intention is to blame Trump for the political discourse, I disagree. Does he participate in it? Yes. Did he cause it? No. Is it a reason to excuse others to do the same? No. Especially local politicians.

  3. By all means, call people out for issues you disagree with them on. Call candidates out if you think they’re hypocritical. But there have been a number of comments on here calling everyone on the left scum and demons. Thats not a policy disagreement with a specific elected official or candidate.

Honestly, I think most of the people we have in elected office locally are full of themselves and just enjoy the attention. I think Beirne is obnoxious in that regard. Same with Danenberger. I can’t stand those guys. I feel like Straza is just in it as a hobby and Dan Brady just runs for office out of habit. Blumenshine was in that same vein. They’re all full of themselves.

But most people, whether they’re on the right or the left, are decent people who just want to make our community a decent place. Its silly for you guys to label everyone on the left as a communist just like its silly for people to label every Trump voter as a fascist.

If you live in a bubble where you only surround yourself with those with whom you agree and live in an information echo chamber, it becomes too easy for us to demonize one other and create an environment where ideas and solutions get discounted because of who they come from rather than how well they work.

I agree that people on the left are just as guilty of that as people on the right, and I’ve especially seen that prevalent on the comments and posts of this blog.

      1. I agree most people are wonderful. But I think people on both sides of the aisle falsely believe that “most people” or “real Americans” share their beliefs. The fact is, regardless of which side of the aisle you’re on, there are an equal amount of Americans on the opposite side. So when we say, most people are wonderful, we have to also realize that most people on the other side of the issues are also wonderful people doing the best for their neighbors, family, and communities. Thats where I think we all fall short as Americans.

  4. Nah , Abby Scott is just a mean , sour , socialist cop hater with control issues. Eric Hansen is just beyond with his ignorant , pithy attitude ( think Do you know Who My Husband is ?) and of air of entitlement.

All 4 people in that picture do not have the best of interests their residents at heart. It’s all about them and their goals of reshaping our community into a Saul Alinsky socialist paradise and holding public office.

As a lifelong traditional Democrat , In my opinion the entire slate of local Democrats (with the exception of Josh Crockett) running for office in this county really are garbage demi-communists if you bother to look.
