Recap of the McLean County Clerk Forum

WGLT broadcast a live stream on Facebook. It is still there if you want to watch it. The moderators should have told the crowd not to disrupt the event with clapping and cheering—they didn’t. Questions were limited because of disruptions by Crockett supporters.

Of course, the question I submitted wasn’t asked. I want Crockett to say whether he would replace the existing personnel with “his” people the way Krystle Able did at Normal Township. She used a sweeper to install her picks—will Joshua do the same? More on her picks in a minute!

Joshua Crockett proved he isn’t a progressive—he’s a regressive. Forty days of early voting, mail-in ballots, same-day registration, and polls open for 13 hours on Election Day already make voting accessible. He wants you to be able to vote anywhere; his example was across the street from your job, because voting at your assigned polling place is supposedly too difficult. He’s going to bankrupt you because that will be expensive.

The funniest moment was when the moderators asked Crockett about the 23% increase in property taxes during his time on the Finance Committee at Heartland. He thinks the junior college contributes so much to the economy by training workers that they deserve your money. Laughing yet? What’s your return on investment?

If Crockett is elected, your property taxes will go up because he has big dreams for the office. All of his grand ideas cost money and solve non-existent problems. Kathy Michael explained that she is mandated by the state to buy things that weren’t budgeted because she didn’t know they would be required when the budget was created. This has never been an issue, it is now because Democrats want to run local elections. Overtime was excessive this year because the 16-year employee who did the tax calculations left for a better-paying job. His replacement was forced to learn the job, which resulted in the errors. Four errors in 16 years isn’t horrible—the new guy now knows the job.

Joshua mentioned he didn’t collect signatures and get on the primary ballot because he was getting married and buying a house.

Crockett currently has a government job working in Dave Koehler’s office. He wants to be elected to another government job. The person he married also has a government job working for Krystle Able in the Normal Township office. The last name was changed to Crockett, but the township website hasn’t been updated: Adam Pemberton, Intake Specialist.

Crockett’s spouse is one of the people Krystle hired during her clean sweep of previous employees. The whole Crockett family lives off of taxpayers. A wedding picture was publicly posted, so they must want people to see it:

  1. If our local party isn’t going to call out “he’s a good person” when talking about someone with child assault material on their computer, then all the work we’ve done fighting human trafficking has gone out the window. This is the last straw for me.

    1. The person was charged and arrested. No one is calling him a good person. This is the hill you are going to die on? You act as though he is out roaming the streets. The local party does not need to call out on this for an employee who was making bad choices on a company computer. He was not caught and then someone tried to cover it up.

  2. Kathy called him a good person last night. She should have refused to comment on an ongoing investigation.

      1. Kathy said last night he hasn’t been convicted. Wish she would have just refused to comment further on the issue. It’s in law enforcements and the judicial system’s hands

People who prey on children are scum of the earth and not good guys..we can surely all agree on that

  3. If anyone knows about history, all you have to do is see how elections are run in Socialist/Communist countries. All elections are rigged. They make the voters feel good by allowing them to vote but in the long run the bad candidate always wins because cheating is the only way. Local and state elections are just as important, if not more than Federal. Get out and vote to stop these progressives from winning. Once we lose to them, we will never get it back!

  4. Way to use Crockett’s wedding picture to pander to your bigoted base Diane. Kathy Michael is incompetent at best, but he actions suggest she is unethical and her office’s escalating mistakes are evidence of her disqualification for the job.

  5. Wow I didn’t realize that I was a bigot. But I do have certain beliefs one being the more you put people involved in unnatural acts into power those that don’t agree with them will be singled out and be expected to pay through the nose for any and all feel good actions that these people will put on everyone. Wake up voters before it’s too late!!!

  6. It’s important that you showed his wedding picture because it helps to clearly define his value structure. It alone doesn’t mean he’d be wrong for the job, for instance I think Scot Bessent’s been great, but it gives us context…..
