Normal’s taxpayer attacks tonight

Tonight Normal will prove laws don’t matter, specifically this one:

approve-bills

Because Stan Nord has been asking why the Council approves payments when Chris Koos has said TWICE on video they aren’t, the wording on the agenda has been changed:

receive bills

Illinois doesn’t care when government violates the law.  There is no one protecting citizens from their government.  Your only option is VOTING.  Low voter turnout in local elections has created this mess.  Your next chance is in early in 2021.

What else is Normal up to?

Another appointment the public isn’t entitled to know about until after the vote:

Koos thinks appointments to an unpaid position is a personnel issue.  He’s clueless.

Was this the event the Town spent $867.89 just for invitations?  https://blnnews.com/2019/08/02/normal-gets-more-bike-lanes-and-more/

I wonder who was appreciated?  It certainly wasn’t taxpayers!

Why are taxpayers paying for a Children’s Discovery Museum FOUNDATION lunch?

Another month, another outrageous rent payment only to get the building with the first floor still empty built:

out rent

More “free” entertainment expenses:

Happy Trails, get the popcorn ready.

  1. So much for free entertainment. It’s the only reason these events are popular!
Sara Quah performs at the Loungeabout the Roundabouts, Sugar Creek Arts Fest, Make Music Normal (Seth Cocquit too). I’m sure the others have as well!

    1. There are probably plenty of local amateur musicians who would gladly volunteer their time to play at the round-about. Both ISU & IWU have music departments. Where is the regional collaboration?

      1. I know ‘pay to play’ is often a ‘bad word’ of sorts in music/arts circles, but Normal could potentially turn the roundabout music scene into a minor profit center vs its JAQE (Just Another Questionable Expense) status if it auctioned/sold playing rights

      2. I would love to know if these performers have the proper permits and remit the proper taxes for sales they make while performing.

  2. And the DEMOCRATS wonder WHY the state is so darn in debt that we could buy a 3rd world country on the interest.. Time to put DEMOCRATS & RINO’S on NOTICE!

  3. Brooke, any interest? Diane Benjamin is a watchdog for all of the unlawful happenings by Normal (and Bloomington) City Council’s. They are ripping off taxpayers big-time!!!

  4. I wonder why Koos is so triggered by the word “procurement”! I wish I could play poker with him. His tells are easy. PROCUREMENT!
