Jeff Fritzen’s case against the Town of Normal and High Haven for how the special use permit was approved got tossed out of court: https://www.25newsnow.com/2024/01/04/judge-throws-out-ex-normal-town-councilmans-cannabis-dispensary-lawsuit/?outputType=amp
Hilarious quote from the judge: Judge Foley wrote: “Case law is clear that a home rule municipality is not bound by its own procedures, unless in doing so the municipality violates a constitutional provision, or state or federal statute.”
In other words: Home Rule allows government to do anything they want.
We’ve seen that claim before. Home Rule municipalities can change whatever rules they want to fit whatever they want to accomplish. No wonder people leave Illinois.

Normal thinks they can build south of the Uptown tracks without natural gas lines. I reported before the City of Berkeley CA got smacked by a court for trying to do the same thing. https://blnnews.com/2023/04/19/koos-dream-goes-up-in-natural-gas/
Berkeley attempted to appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Nineth Circuit. On January 2nd that court refused to hear the appeal: https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/appeals-court-deals-blow-to-california-citys-gas-stove-ban-5557332
If Normal attempts to ban natural gas south of the tracks that would be a clear violation of law. The local judges would probably say it’s fine since Normal is Home Rule. It isn’t, but that is the local judicial mentality.

Candidates have until January 18th to file as a write-in candidate. Contact the County Clerk or Bloomington Election Commission for details.
Early voting, because Illinois wants to bank democrat votes long before campaigning begins, starts February 8th. Primary Election Day isn’t until March 19th.
I don’t see any contested Democrat races, why would they bother to vote?
The current Federal candidates on the County site don’t include any for president: https://airtable.com/appHfrM1KmmEbK9dC/shrC9PhoCHnGyUqeR/tbluY4DjbROkbQfZl
I don’t know why, but I asked. Update when I know!
Update: Today is the first day they can file with the State Board of Elections. They have until January 11th.

The local judiciary is a cesspool. Once in a great while they might get something right, but it’s the ultimate establishment protection agency.
BTW look at all the violent offenders that get released now despite judges having discretion.
Judge Foley is to busy with a married judge, and talking cases at the local bar, than she is making a good ruling
She’s a real paragon of virtue. Willing to let the citizens of BN deal with the ramifications of her decisions. But then why not. She destroyed her family. To her we’re nothing.
As told to me by a local attorney. If it is Foley get the case moved to another judge.
I think someone needs to investigate Foley, attorney Robert Porter and Guardian Ad Litem Nargis Khokhar. Porter taking away someone’s rights in a guardianship case and Nargis who is supposed to defend a ward all in the same building! As one attorney said, it does look suspicious. Well yeah with no one in this state over seeing a Guardian Ad Litem.
She was the judge in the Coliseum case. She colluded with the other lawyers to end the case. I should have filed a complaint against her
