Audio is now available – over 2 hours. I may or may not listen. The problem with audio is listeners might not be able to tell who is talking. There are three Public Comments at the beginning you need to hear. The first 30 minutes resembles “Who’s On First”. https://mcleancountyil.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/10027

The Rules Committee met last night but there is No Video and No Audio posted as of this morning. I had to get information from people who attended.
The changes to Public Comment Policy passed, the entire Board still has to approve before it goes into effect.
The attempt by Democrats to declare themselves prosecutor, judge, and executioner failed, this was scrapped:

Expect this to be back if they win the majority in November.
Evidently other items got contentious. Without audio or video I can’t report! Nice job by whoever had that responsibility.

This is pathetic – honestly county is not to be trusted by anyone at this point.
They all need fired.
It would be interesting to see what conflicts of interest each Dem board member has.
Sure its systematic messes and fraud and exploit of citizens calling it “service” to the public.
The Democrat/progressive members of the county board are very deceitfully trying to quick rush changes to the rules in an attempt to weaponize the process itself against Republicans .
Ringleader Dems attempting to hide these other rule changes under the public comment amendment.
The public comment speakers were spot on.
Hopefully the Republicans can pick up 2-3 seats on the board in the next election to compensate for the 3 RINOS that habitually cede to Democrats on almost every issue.
Would be nice for Board members to speak into the microphones!
With all the newer taxes, maybe they can get a av person with knowledge and able to be competent.
Chuck erickson solely killed all of the public comment amendments at the Executive Committee earlier today! He clearly doesnt care about what the public wants
He’s one vote, not possible
Nope. That was not what happened. The Dems attached a bunch of other rule amendments to Ch 20, along with the public comment rule amendments. When they were presented at the Rules Subcommittee, each amendment was was voted on individually. The public comment rule amendments passed unanimously, including Chuck’s vote. There were a lot of things the Republicans did not like, so many items were tabled. There were a couple amendments to the Dems amendments were the Republicans prevailed. Then Dems played dirty at the end of the rules subcommittee meeting when George Wendt left the meeting. Laymon illegally made a motion to reconsider which Johnston allowed, so it undid the Republicans changes.
Fast forward to today. The Republicans were then faced with an amended packet which contained rules they could not agree with, even though they agreed with the public comment amendments. Chuck specifically said that if they had to vote on the whole packet, he would have to vote no, even though he supported the public comment amendments.
The public comment amendments would have passed (with Chuck’s support) had the Dems not attached a bunch of other debatable items and played dirty at the end of last meeting. This is on the Dems, not Chuck or the Republicans.
