AOC and Bernie Sanders are progressives. Basically anyone who wants to use government to shape the future the way they want it to be is progressive. If you don’t agree with that vision you are ignored. Defund the Police was progressive.

The local unions refused to endorse Chris Koos as they’ve done before. They didn’t endorse anyone in Normal for mayor.
In Bloomington they endorsed Cody Hendricks. Quote:
Hendricks is considered the most progressive of the three candidates and is a former Pekin City Council member.
The unions expect Cody to keep them employed. Mboka rebuilding the library and a water park wasn’t good enough. What has Cody promised them? (at your expense)

They want to destroy everything …. our entire social structure! How many people want a DEI hired surgeon or airplane pilot? There is no place for DEI anywhere in a successful country! I’d say you are right. The best way to define a progressive without labeling them is to look at the data.
Look at Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York. Progressives move into locations where money is easy to get their hands on and spend it wildly. Misery, distrust, anger, crime and poverty result. They end up destroying their communities. Mass exodus ensues. People move as far away from them as they can, if they can.
This is the natural progression of progressive leadership. Federal, State and local.
What is a progressive? A miserable person you don’t want to live near because you don’t want to have to move away.
I just watched the video of the council meeting presentation on housing trends in the area. Bloomington/Normal should have been added to my list of people leaving progressive led communities. It’s a good video to watch if you have time.
Another title for Communist. Compassion care sounds better than hospice and Progressive sounds better than Communist.
What they want is the government to induldge in equity administration such as a minimum income, healthcare, retirement, employment, etc. Their guard rail to keep this in place would be you giving up free speech, confiscation of your income, assets, inheritance, etc. Less spending for military and more spending for social programs.

It’ll just get better too…..A headline in one of today’s News feeds is “… Mexico of the Midwest goes quiet as a ghost town in fear of ICE” BTW Mexico of the Midwest is in Chicago! Guess where they’ll go? Progressive welcoming not in our town BlowNo.
Another “great” article Diane! McLean Co. must have a large rock pile…somewhere…that all these miscreants crawled out of or…… at some point they came in the dark of night from outer space or…. (more likely) from your State’s Leftist ‘higher’ education system. Are there not enough “common sense” individuals left in these two cities who just want to be “free” of such “heavy-handed” government control or have they become weak-kneed wimps?? I lived for over 35 years in Woodford Co. and my family and I spent much time…plus money in McLean Co….and back then it was a pleasure to shop and eat there. A daughter and family still live in Woodford Co., but they no longer go to McLean Co. for anything. Instead, they drive to Morton…or Washington. You all definitely need God’s help!

You’re exactly right. 100% right. However, I think God’s a little busy, the closest thing we can get to actual action seems to be Cody Hendricks for Bloomington Mayor. Maybe we should try real action here in McLean County?

I wish I did not know how many executive level and owner class elites in this town are perfectly fine with the DSA/progressive agenda in our community AND actively , yet subtlety ,advance those that promote that ideology.
The working middle and lower class have very few elected and managerial level public servants looking out for their interests and safety.
White Guilt and superficial virtue signaling are prevalent traits among the so- called elites in our community. They are mentally stuck in 2009.
