Court Ruling: Pride Flags in Classrooms

By: Diane Benjamin

This post was made by Unit 5 music teacher and County Board member Corey Beirne who is running for reelection:

A music teacher is teaching kids about sexual identity? Why Corey? Because behind closed doors you can?

A US Court of Appeals issued their ruling on August 30th on a case filed by 3 openly LGBTQ teachers who were told by their school district to remove pride flags from their classrooms. The judge who decided the case is also LGBTQ.

The court ruled teachers do not have a First Amendment right to speech that violates their professional responsibilities to their government employer:

The bottom line now is: If you see pride flags in local classrooms it is because the school district allows it.

If you want your kids educated instead of indoctrinated, actually vote early next year for School Board members who support your beliefs. Of course people concerned need to run for office first. Two years ago nobody did.

Unit 5 Policies Manual excerpt:

See the entire Policy Manual here: https://www.unit5.org/board-of-education/policies-manual

You can vote for a better County Board member this November: Matt Steinkoenig. If Unit 5 won’t stop a music teacher from teaching little kids about sex, you can at least ban him from raising your property taxes again.

  1. This behavior is unacceptable, the teacher reaching out to the confused students. They should not be subjected and encouraged to this teachers way of life, that should be the parents roll. I’m sure the teacher has a ‘hit’ list of students to influence. As for county board, voters need to express their sentiments at the ballot box

  2. It is a sad commentary when the freak show has taken over music and so many of the other instructional programs in public schools! Why do you think the private school programs are increasing in enrollment so much, as well as homeschooling?! But the private schools need to be very vigilant to keep it out of their programs as well. It is an insidious cultural disease! Children need to be constantly reminded not to accept freakish behavior as normal. That is the evil goal of the left. It is a constant battle of good versus evil! JK

  3. Corey Beirne always brags about how he teachers over 200 little kids. And of course, we know by teach he means sexually and politically groom children to become self loathing, effeminate , pagan, liberals.

  4. I guess the biggest issue with this is how does the mindset of Corey Beirne-Scott translate into being a community representative on the McLean County Board?

As a grade school music teacher, he felt it was OK to enact his own curriculum by quizzing the children in his class on the subject of sexual lifestyle.
He disregarded the opinions and wishes of parents pertaining to the subject of LGBTQIA+ in the classroom,
As an authority figure he imposed a sexual related topic on children.
The school’s policy on sex education has an opt out feature for the younger classes. If this could be construed as a kind of sex education, he ignored the opt out option for parents.

How does this translate into being a representative of citizens on the county board?
Will he represent all the citizens of the county, or will his own social and political agendas override the desires and will of the people?
Will he be transparent and non-biased or will he work behind the scenes to push his own agendas?
Does he hold citizens that disagree with his views in low esteme?
Will he skirt and even ignore rules and regulations in his position as a board member?

Questions have proven to be difficult for Corey, but these are questions Mr. Beirne needs to answer.

  5. Let’s see we cannot discuss our religious beliefs in a classroom but this teacher is allowed to discuss his abnormal sexual situation along with a flag in his classroom. He needs to be removed from the classroom but those individuals in charge are either too weak to make this decision or they agree with him. I can’t believe that parents of the children attending this school have not worked to shut this school down until changes are made.
And for all you leftist out there this has nothing to do with gay bashing it has to do with what our students should be taught in school, let me suggest, reading, writing, and, arithmetic leave the social stuff to the parents.
