Do You Know Your Kids Are Taught Climate Change?

By: Diane Benjamin

This started with global cooling, that flipped to global warming. Climate Change was then the name picked so they didn’t have to reverse course again.

This is a screen shot from the Unit 5 agenda, see item 16: https://meetings.boardbook.org/Public/Agenda/1482?meeting=660148

Illinois democrats passed a law mandating this as part of the curriculum. It is an unfunded mandate in all schools.

The question you need to ask your kids is What Version Of Climate Change are they being taught? Al Gore, Bill Gates, and AOC or actual science?

Do they ever hear the 1930’s were hotter than now? Do they ever hear this?

Does the teacher ever say what melted the glacier that used to cover half of Illinois? Heard of Moraine View State Park? A moraine is an accumulation of unconsolidated debris, such as regolith and rock, that has been carried and deposited by a glacier or ice sheet.

I had AI compile a list of the top 50 predictions. If your kids never hear about the failures, they are being taught propaganda. Note warming predictions are less than 1 degree centigrade. Keep that in mind as your energy bills skyrocket.

  1. 1936 was the Hottest year on record. The actual AIR temperature reached 112 in Peoria and Rockford. Nightly lows were 95. In the drought year of 1988, a July high temperature reached 105 AIR temperature. No such thing as “feels like temperature” back then. I ran 112 degrees and 65-70% humidity through todays “feels Like” calculator and it shows about 190 to 200 degrees! Occasionally, weather forecasters refer to 1936 but they NEVER take a guess at what a feels like temperatures might have been back then…

      1. Yes. Also in 1936 the Rockford area saw temps around minus 30. Again, little discussion today about that. It was a very extreme dust bowl year in the middle of the depression.

  2. If the premise is that America is a contemptible country (see Unit 5’s Equity Audit) and social activism is the stated purpose of education (see Illinois’ Social Emotional Teaching and Leading Standard), you know the approach to climate change in U5 will be to blame America, (specifically Republicans) for any and all worldwide climate catastrophes and actively demonstrate, vote and preach the ideology of climate victimhood.

The timing for the recent return to climate catastrophe panic peddling is a get the vote out campaign built on pseudo science. It’s just another thing Socialist/Democrats can promise to fix — a crisis they can endlessly dramatize, never solve, and always recycle when election season rolls around.

  3. Our children Absolutely Should learn about climate change. The posted attachment can be Extremely useful in for that. (I will confess I didn’t download it, so I’m making some assumptions about the content.)
Today we’re going to talk about Climate Change. The Climate Change issue is a Very serious problem. People have been making scary predictions since (before I was born / I was little). The best way to learn about this problem is to look at the predictions.
Can anyone tell me when our current Ice Age started? That’s right, there isn’t one. That was a prediction from 1975.
Can anyone tell me how long we’ve lived in a desert that doesn’t produce any food? That’s right, we don’t. That was a prediction from 1985.
Can anyone tell me when New York City disappeared into the Ocean? That’s right, it didn’t. That was a prediction from 1990.
Can anyone tell me when Florida was totally flooded and disappeared underwater? That’s right, it didn’t. That was a prediction from 1995.
Can anyone tell me when the US was hit by 10 hurricanes one one year? That’s right, we never have. That was a prediction from 2000. In fact, it looks like this year the US won’t have Any hurricanes.
Can anyone tell me when the last polar bear died? That’s right, we still have polar bears. That was a prediction from 2005.
When did we completely run out of oil and gasoline, when did all the people die, when did etc etc
Can anyone tell me if the people making all these scary climate change predictions are telling the truth or lying? That’s right. And I think we can all agree that That really is a Very Serious Problem.

    1. Thanks for the education Karl! It does take a sliver of common sense to realize that continous prediction failures might be an indicator that the premise is faulty. Too bad you can’t teach common sense to the gullible.

We dodged another one when Trump won and the planned climate related expenditures in the Inflation Reduction Act were more or less canceled in 2025. Estimates show that it could have cost us $600 Billion dollars (actually there was no cap) in tax credits, grants and loans related to climate control and reaching net zero by 2050. A goal that both sides now admit could not be achieved.

But the question is what will Unit 5 teach our impressionable kids about all this.
