Step back to last Friday – Tari Renner’s Open House. Both WJBC and the Pantagraph had reporters there, they failed to do a story on what happened or Tari’s racist comment. They have now allowed time for Tari to formulate a response. Lost in this conversation are the people who attended to demand representation on the Connect Transit Board, diversity was Tari’s term which means something totally different.
The morning host (Scott Miller) on WJBC finally mentioned and played Renner’s comments today. Hear it here: Scott Miller comments
He actually agreed Renner’s comments were racist. Maybe he can ask the reporter who was present why it wasn’t a story last Friday or Saturday. If you listened to the video from yesterday, the reaction of the people present proved many were offended. https://blnnews.com/2019/05/29/want-context-tari-here-it-is/
WGLT did a story yesterday, it is what you would expect since RC MBride and Mike McCurdy work there: https://www.wglt.org/post/renner-clarence-thomas-diversity-comment-was-poor-choice-words
Last night WEEK did a story at 6:00 and an expanded version at 10:00. They also gave Tari time to explain himself. You can watch it here: WEEK TV
Tari claims he was taken out of context. Watch the video above, he wasn’t. The video ends with Tari claiming he is a victim of an “extreme right wing blogger”.
The Pantagraph still hasn’t reported. I imagine they will eventually. It will be more of Tari claiming he was taken out of context and he’s a victim. Maybe they should talk to their reporter who was also present.
Meanwhile, Stan Nord was on WMDB TV last night. You can watch that video here: WMDB video
Nord paid the tap-on fees the Town of Normal claims he owed only so he can be part of the conversation. The code for both Bloomington and Normal needs changed to say no one gets connected to sewer service until the fees are paid. Developers can’t be allowed to get a deferment at the whims of an un-elected city employee. No lien was ever filed, so a title search will not reveal any unpaid charges.
Nord calls these “ghost fees”. By allowing this practice to continue, all property rights are jeopardized. If government can tell you fees are due from a decade ago, your property isn’t really yours.
This property has buildings on it and permits have been issued by the Town of Normal to previous owners. They told Mr. Nord he can’t have any permits until the fees are paid. More proof his property rights were violated.
Stan Nord isn’t done defending not only his property rights, but those of every property owner in Normal. He chose the administrative route instead of the courts.

Diane, you can wear the “extreme right wing blogger” quote from Renner as a badge of honor!
Like a little kid, he always has to get that last word in.
Un. Freaking. Believable. This guy is really something else.
So Mayor Little Man: “My personal favorite, that might not be Angela’s personal favorite, would be Clarence Thomas. He sure does not behave like someone who is African-American from my perspective.”
Can you tell us all exactly how an African-American acts?
Mayor renner’s comments regarding diversity -there are many kinds of diversity, there is the university type of diversity and others-. Taking your shoes off during such a meeting, might mean he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
Tari’s problem is that he slipped and forgot that leftists aren’t supposed to say out loud what they really believe.
Let’s imagine for a moment that a similar comment was made by Stan Nord. Would the Pantagraph/WGLT/WJBC run a story? In a heartbeat! “Controversial new Council member offends minority community with insensitive public statements” Such a story would likely include quotes from offended people and organizations calling for his resignation. Meanwhile, crickets for Tari’s comments.
Actually there are not crickets. Lots of people from NIOT are defending him…including a Koos.
The issue Renner addresses is identity politics not racism. When liberals talk about diversity it relates to identity politics. Renner sees people by their identity. Clarence Thomas is a bad person because he doesn’t conform to the liberal definition of his identity group. This is how liberals use diversity to divide us into identity group. Diversity without a unity is not a good thing.
Test what?
Tari is a “VICTIM” of his OWN stupidity and bias. Open mouth, insert foot, which is WHAT I though he was going to do in the video, they way he way playing footsie with himself..
So Diane, you now control the words of King Tari? Your mental telepathy astounds me. Like the stormtroopers in star wars : “these are not the droids you are looking for?” If you can control Tari how about working a little mind push on Pritzger and Madigan?
