From 2009-2010 Democrats controlled all 3 branches of government. Joe Biden had the same thing in 2021 when the Senate was 50-50 giving Kamala Harris the tie breaking vote. They could have legalized illegal immigrants and DACA and recipients all by themselves, they didn’t even try. If they care so much about “migrants” why didn’t they?

You need to Beirne’s quotes in the story. He’s worse than divisive. Mike Matejka thinks immigration is politicized. (Duh Mike). Chris Koos must have changed parties, he’s “realistic”.
No where in the story does it mention these “migrants” are illegal law breakers. They aren’t immigrants. I have good friends who immigrated here LEGALLY and are now citizens. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want legal immigrants. Those crossing the southern border since Biden became president don’t have medical exams, background checks, or knowledge of our laws and culture. Legal immigrants pay thousands of dollars to come here, illegals get a free ride. (except from the cartels getting rich off abusing them)
The purpose of immigration since the country’s founding has been to strengthen the country. These illegal immigrants are a BURDEN to the country. It is not the job of government or citizens to take care of people who broke the law to get here.
The County Board show tonight will be very revealing. The left will show up with companionate tears. Take names, send “migrants” to their homes. I predict a few republican RINOS will vote against the ordinance thinking it’s cruel. Cruel is invading a country you don’t have a legal right to enter and expect hard working people to pay for your care.
Cruel is also expecting border states to absorb millions of people with no help from northern cities who claim to be sanctuary cities. The democrat party created this mess, let’s see them deny that tonight. Get the popcorn ready. New York is now sending “migrants” to Illinois. McLean County needs protected. I predict the ordinance won’t pass however.
Corey Beirne consistently labels anyone questioning the wisdom of unchecked illegal immigration as racist, effectively shutting down any meaningful discussion. Ironically, under the very anti-racist ideology he claims to support, he would be considered a racist and white supremacist simply due to the shade of his skin. (See Unit 5’s Equity Audit 2021.) Corey is an Equity Team Leader and grade school teacher at Unit 5. How he keeps his job is beyond me.
His strategy of ending discussions through name-calling is not only simplistic, but also indicative of a lack of common sense. Not considering the consequences of actions and disregarding the costs of one’s actions is a recipe for disaster.
Corey asserts that these illegal immigrants are merely passing through to Chicago, but he has no concrete evidence to support this claim. Meanwhile, Chicago is actively working to keep these immigrants out. Instead of engaging in a thoughtful dialogue, he resorts to junior high school expletives.
It is time to shift the focus from name-calling to a genuine conversation about the issue at hand. We must prioritize practical considerations and examine the potential consequences of our actions.
