I don’t believe the Normal police have ever apologized for arresting the victim, Chad Berck, who was stabbed 19 times by a neighbor who was and never arrested.
Think an Order of Protection is going to protect you?

It’s even harder when the Normal police can’t find the Order of Protection in their system when a 5 year bully hasn’t stopped terrorizing Ironwood.
On August 28, 2026 Chad Berck again called the Normal Police because the Order of Protection was violated. The police couldn’t find any trace of it in their system. Berck gave the officer copies. The officer was able to locate it after a phone call to County records.
Would the police be able to locate yours? Why weren’t they able to locate Berck’s? Are citizens being forced to be vigilantes because they have no legal protections?
Chad Berck made a public comment at the Normal Town Council meeting last night. Will anything change? His family and neighbors have been terrorized by the same individual for at least 5 years. Does it have to elevate to an Amy Moore event before law enforcement takes this seriously? Doesn’t Trustee Kathleen Lorenz live in Ironwood?

No replies from the Circuit clerk or his office other than the unprofessional behavior towards me as they yelled all my private business loudly and told me to talk to the Sheriffs Department!!
Orders of Protection signed by the judge should be in the system. This is not a hunt and peck game. There is zero excuse for this happening. Like Bloomington, Normal is setting itself up for a lawsuit.
Stabbed 19 times?!?!?!!! I’d suggest getting a concealed carry permit, a good firearm, and learn how to use it!.
I bet he has one. Would Normal police would arrest him for protecting his family?
CLEARLY, they would have arrested him!

This scenario is absolute INSANITY!!
The Normal Police could not tell who was doing the stabbing and who had all of the stab wounds?!??!
Or was this a result of the Illinois Safe T Act…
In Illinois, we arrest the victims, while the criminals walk free.
I know nothing about this situation except what I just read and watched here….
This neighborhood bully is clearly trying to provoke someone. This is is very dangerous situation for all residents in Ironwood.
Also, disgusting that no one on The Board had anything to say to their Normal resident regarding the information that he just shared!
Where was Koos? This resident is correct that this issue should go straight to Koos!
REMEMBER
Koos ordered the Police to stand down when the looters showed up and tore up our town and looted our businesses. Don’t forget that Klown Koos kept his bike shop OPEN and even had a banner made to rub it in our faces! While he made all other small business owners close up! Infuriating!!!
It’s the new law in Illinois just look at the sanctuary policies for dangerous illegals, you have to wait until they kill someone before any action is taken. just look at how an illegal can commit a crime and are immediately released back into our communities.
I guess same goes for Illinois and Bloomington Normal citizens we just have to wait before a dangerous person kills someone before any real action takes place.

Well if Normal PD cannot enforce the law and protect its Citizens then call the Sheriff.
OUR Sheriff has full enforcement authority over ALL of McLean County, and is not constrained by municipal boundaries.
Municipal Departments are led by a hired Chief, beholden to the political whims of left leaning city councils and Mayors.
Our Sheriff is the only elected law enforcement leader chosen by us , We the People and our Sheriff is who WE selected to enforce our laws because he IS one of us.
If Normal PD won’t enforce the laws and protect the residents of Normal, hopefully the Sheriffs Office will.
