Fake History – the musical

Fake history got turned into a musical. Town of Normal Trustee Karyn Smith promoted this event on Facebook.

It is being pushed by Unit 5, the Normal Human Rights Commission, Normal Parks and Recreation, and the Normal Public Library. Tax dollars anyone?

I’m pretty sure it won’t mention:

-South America imported FAR more slaves than North America

-Blacks in Africa rounded up other blacks to sell into slavery

-Slavery was common everywhere in the world

-Democrats were the slave owners and behind the KKK, Jim Crow laws, etc

-The Republican Party was FOUNDED to stop the spread of slavery to new states

-We fought a civil war to end slavery, 620,000 people died

-The first ever Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, was assassinated for ending slavery

-There are still slaves in Africa today, nobody notices because they are Christian

I could go on.

Is Unit 5 teaching the 1619 project? Is District 87 still teaching it? Have you noticed kids aren’t even taught REAL history anymore? It’s now Social Studies.

Add this to the list of why your kids shouldn’t be in Unit 5 or live in Normal.

In case you forget, this story has video of a District 87 kid claiming the 1619 project taught him Lincoln was a white supremist who accidently ended slavery. At the time D87 required giving addresses for public comment even though I stated the Open Meetings Act doesn’t require it. https://blnnews.com/2021/06/11/2-district-87-kids-1619-project/?shem=isphe,

Why is history being re-written? Because the truth must be buried.

  1. Here is what this continues to perpetuate, whoa is me the reason I am where I am is because slavery was prevalent in parts of the USA 160 years ago and yes it took certain actions in the 1960’s to make racial improvements but that has been 60 years ago.Instead of going to school working hard to get a good education and making something of yourself it’s easier to find an excuse as to why you shouldn’t work hard. Not all have this attitude but when you push this kind of education on our youth it’s obvious that there are those that adopt the attitude whoa is me I want the government to take care of me because of where my ancestors came from! Until all history is taught both the good and the bad I don’t foresee these attitudes to be changing.
